'DLC_2 NOT LOADED'
I have xCom with all DLCs, made a fresh installation and purged the init file as well - yet for some reason the Highlander Error Log says that 'DLC_2 NOT LOADED'.

I assume this is the Alien Hunter DLC right? I have subscribed to the related Highlander plugin as well. I'm nearly 100% sure I'm herpaderping something myself, so any clue what I'm doing wrong?

I am uncertain on what was causing the issue, but after the fresh reinstall, purging the init files AND ONLY THEN, verifying the files w/ steam made the issue go away. Your mileage may vary.

But do we have to use the plugin together with the hifghlander, or only the Plugin ?

If you do not have Alien Hunters DLC, then use just the Highlander.
If you have Alien Hunters DLC, use both Highlander and Alien Hunters Highlander plugin.

I had the same issue, and installing this resolved it

I have Alien hunters and this mod did stop the stuttering issue that was making the game not fun

They meant "ini" files, not "init" files. They are talking about doing Regenerating User Config:

Bug still exists and I solved it by installing the Alien Hunters version too

I think they mean that DLC_2 error form the original poster I'm also having this issue as of 5/23/2023 I'll be trying that alien hunter thing above and return if it works.

EDIT: well I don't know what it did exactly but the error is gone for me still having issues with visible heads and stuff :/ man why can't game devs leave well enough alone this update is annoying.

What update are you talking about? The Alien Hunters Highlander is required if you're using Highlander and you have Alien Hunters DLC - this is very clearly explained in Highlander's description. It's been this way for years.
