HEL weapon console connection
My hel prototype says "weapon console connection required", does that mean it need to be on the same electrical grid than the console?
cause one of the tooltip also said that it must be on a different power grid than the rest of the base so it seems like a lot of stuff to build just to test a weapon.

as a side question, is it worth it? cause i feel like the weapons from the mod seems a lot of work for not much so is it better just to stick to reactors and not care about the weapons at all?

its a good idea to split weapons on the own net for safety but its not required, the weapons console does need to be on the same net as the weapons to control them though.

and the weapons are extremely powerful, a couple of hel's can totally protect a base from siege and mech cluster mortars, the effort required to research and construct the weapons and reactors reactors required to power them is because of how powerful they are

ok thanks ! what kind of risk am i exposing to if i dont build it on a separate grid?

also, quick unrelated question, some weapons say they require line of sight and some dont, what are the weapons that can be used as "mortars" exactly? (as in, can fire over structure)

the punisher is the only one that can shoot over walls when its targeting other maps, else it needs line of sight in-map, if you hook your weapons and ppc's up to your main base powernet then you risk massive short circuit discharges in your base, if you use a transformer to create a second net just for weapons then its safer and you can divert power from non essential devices in the base to the weapons during a raid for faster ppc recharge
