heroes never self buff

(they can after an eaw update but like i dont think any other mod uses that)

this is why hero pairs work great the better hero will buff everyone and the other hero will buff the 1st one

If memory serves, heroes that don't have a flagship and attach themselves to the largest ship/hero (either by not using pathfinders or by using the pathfinder exploit) can buff themselves, but said heroes are rather rare.
