Edits to Tully

I have played about ten sessions as Tully (P1/Blue) now, and I really enjoy playing them. They are in the heart of the chaos that inflicts the Iron Throne & Westeros, forcing them to think hard about who they marry and why. This is perfectly simulated in the map and I believe it is a great draw to why I keep playing as them. However, I would like to see some improvements to them, that they appear to be lacking. Please bare in mind any bias towards them in this constructive critique.

Here's my thoughts:

The Riverland's geography
  1. Riverrun is more decorative, than it is defendable, in regards to the circular moat and layout of the city. It needs to be edited, with clear resources piles, buildings and making it look more in keep with GOT Overhaul Riverlands.
  2. On the point of placing resources, places at least one villager near each spot for ALL players, so we can get a quick tour of our lands with the idle villager button.
  3. Archery ranges on the river fork should be moved behind the walls, a market/utility building would be more useful here, as I lost these twice to Vale KRush. (No, HPikes didn't help.)
  4. The shoreline is bordered off to prevent a GJ Rush, but all other borders are open, which leads to a one-minute-rush to wall everything off. This is monotonous. But it becomes Painful if Tully becomes steward too.
  5. Lock-bridge on (What I think is) the Red Fork River is a nice feature, but is ultimately useless, as Lannister often attacks from the land crossing & no obvious reason to ever open it. This would be more useful on the Twins or near Harrenhal.
  6. The Twins crossing is nicely done, but the positioning of the castles should be brought away from the forests and closer to the river, where they can be used to defend the river.
  7. Place boulders to prevent Northern units from just walking around the Mountains or river shoreline near the Twins. Please do this.
  8. I like how the Twins & Moat Cailin border is particularly difficult to defend, much the same as it is in GOT Overhaul, but an initial-border wooden-gate here would not be unwarrented.

The Riverland's gameplay
  1. Okay, this may sound strange; In all my games, Tully became the Regent of KIng's Landing. Please check that this isn't a bug.
  2. Upon recieving KL, I found myself constantly having to fight over Harrenhal, to prevent my lands from being split. This is great for starting an early fight with the Vale, who often wins out over the Riverlands, unless you wall up. More a comment than a critique.
  3. Initially, I was worried that the 23 Villager cap for Tully was going to be OP, as I could just outproduce everyone. Instead, in most of my games, I find myself often struggling to assign them. I believe this a great bonus to have.
  4. Automatic spawn rate of Rivermen seems somewhat lack-luster. Perhaps placing "Lords" into their respective castles should spawn them at a faster rate, in exchange for resources.
  5. WHY CAN I NOT SELL ROSLIN TO BAELISH???
  6. I control Tyrion if I am Regent of KL? Why? I have Pycelle & the High Septon already, so wouldn't Baelish/Varys make more sense instead of Tyrion?
  7. Design of King's Landing makes sense and is logical, I like it. But why is there no outpost or anything out of Crackclaw point? I should be able to see out there if I am Regent surely.
  8. As noted before, with the sudden rush of having to monotonously wall up the borders, to prevent having land/resources stolen. This is a draw away from the gameplay. Borders made up of palisade gates will suffice.

General gameplay
  1. I feel that resource taxes on units should become a thing in this map. It does not feel like GOT Overhaul without them. Instead, it feels like GOT Heroes... This makes people often build armies asap, with no consequence to early aggression.
  2. Greyjoy has Cannon Galleon?? Why does Greyjoy have Cannon Galleon!? Does anyone else have them?? #BanUnit
  3. 8k gold for the Golden Company is too cheap & far too easy to obtain. Consider bumping up the price to 10k+.
  4. Greyjoy loves to bully Martell. Their shoreline is easiest to raids, and can sometimes knock P8 out quickly with enough aggression.
  5. Seems to be a glitch in the Victory Timer trigger, I had one game with both players on 7 relics, tussling for the win, but the timer didn't reset properly after reclaiming the relics. I hear this has happened elsewhere.

Thanks MarquisAlex for your detailed thoughts and pointing things out to me, some fixes I can implement that I didn't really notice before.

Yeah the Greyjoy cannon galleons I left there on accident from when I was testing something.

Good point with the vil locations, easy fix that I agree would be useful.

Victory trigger definitely bugged.

Still experimenting with taxes and pop limits. Just added the +10 pop for each castle so wanted to see how that plays out compared to an annoying tax. But yeah, taxes might possibly end up being inevitable.

Tully's bridge - experimental - plan to add more to other areas

Idk what happens with the random trigger. Someone told me last week it was Vale every single time they played it, but for me it's been pretty consistently random.

First, great Game, i love it ;)
It would be great, if it would be clear, how p5 can marry the other. Because its not so clear in the list.

One thing, the Bridge between the Vale and the North is not possible to use.

Also Samwell Tarley did not work.

P3 have no Smith

Awesome Game =) At least if player dont leave... ^^

Some Suggestions:

- Maybe you could add that Beaelish gets also gold every 10 minutes for every woman which is next to him =) / or just a bonus if he is in his Bealish house^^
- Counter for the zivil Population, im always going until 20 and then I have to kill one... or better that its not even allowed to produce more^^
- As a Frank you can developbetter ships, but you cant build them later.

So i think there is a major issue with bending the knee to Stannis is it makes P4 nerfd. If you look at hints it says stannis is Renly's heir; 1. thats not accurate with GOT and 2 Stannis doesnt start with p4. 2. The special ability of Stannis is shadows but cant get without melisandre and stannis. 3. Stannis cant get the pirates without Davos and thats also dragon stone.
You may say: just bend the kneee but if I start with 2 relics and king gets first spawn at KL and then bends to stannis, im screwed. Also p4 only gets 1 hero now so theres that.

Yes you are right, I would like to add another feature to P4 to make up for losing Stannis. There are still a few things not finished yet after making that change.
