generally then just letting go of the button should've closed the menu, weird. don't think it could've been bound to smh_menu as it doesn't recognize just the command without the +

also, to which button did you bind the menu? perhaps there's some weirdness with it that doesn't send the release commands (ones with - . you can try binding stuff like +left and see if you could stop spinning to the left if you release it. if it won't work, then enter -left)

i binded it with X

did you enter the big X when binding or the lowercase x? maybe if it's the former then try to rebind it to the small one, i don't think it may help but who knows with this source engine spaghetti.

i did it with the lowercase X

also i have to paste the "-smh_menu" everytime in the console to close the menu because it doesn't work if i bind it

think that's mostly some problem with gmod itself, as console commands work for smh then. will it still have such a problem if you bind it to some other button?

yeah think it might be something with source engine and your system, perhaps. don't think i know much else what can be done here, sorry.
