So I was playing as Japan, did the pre-emptive coup, did the treaty with the US, freed Korea, freed Manchuria, and was engaged in another war in China when all of a sudden I am informed that there is a Democratic coup and the game treats it as if I was still fascist with the event cards, etc. I was already at 100% Democratic. Somehow, the coup forces keep >90% of my forces (probably from zany math assigning rebels the proportion from the % Democratic support), and overwhelmed me almost immediately, while the Axis asks me to join them despite me being listed still in my country overview as Democratic. This triggered a game loss with zero score.
