So it's pretty much same thing except it causes slightly different effects (No infighting). Does it have levels like the Curse's Passive-Craving-Wasting ? How do trinkets interact with it ? What sort of debuffs does it cause, and does it give the hero who has it some bonuses like the curse ? Not to mention that it amy be difficult to juggle between two similar debuffs that require managment. What would a hero portrait of a character both afflicted with crimson curse and frostbite look like ?
I'm not without some suggestions. Maybe make it so that frostbite doesn't cause any sort of lethal effects, but instead is a persistant debuff that can't be cured easily. And artifacts don't help manage it, but instead give bonuses to the aspects that frostbite doesn't affect. For an example, if frostbite limits healing a party member receives, there could be an artifact that gives a large amount of bonus max health to a partymember who is afflicted with frostbite. Or if frostbite limits SPD, maybe there could be an artifact that gives a hefty amount of bonus damage so player can strategise and turn a frostbitten character into a slow damage-dealer.
Also, out of vanity I would like to ask if The Tribal spirit-caller's ability to turn corpses into ghost enemies was from my suggestion ( I recall suggesting something like that in the monster suggestion discussion).
On that note: Frostbite takes functions from the Curse, but changes things up.
Frostbite has 3 Stages: Shivering, Frostnip, Frostbite.
Frostbite is curable from camping cures, the sanitorium, and from a purchasable provision right from the get go.
Frostbite acts a lot faster then the curse. Like super fast. It's current design is meant to be something you get in the mountains and then cure it through provisions quickly, or through the sanitorium. It's a balancing act between the inventory space for the cure or treasure.
Shivering, Frostnip, and frostbite will affect a character's speed, dodge, and in later stages; their ability to change position and to even take action. It is a purely negative disease balanced by being super easy to cure.
A Crimson curse character can not get Frostbite. Vampires are ok with the cold. Who knew?
Landgreen
