This is Beta Test Channel! Here I will upload and post several beta versions before an actual release, anyone's help by testing them and reporting issues will be much appreciated!
(Since updating a workshop item will clear user's modification and custom files, I must be careful of every update and make sure it has no serious bug or something.)

Usage
  1. Download zip file from link, then extract the "live2d-beta ..." folder into <Steam>\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\projects\myprojects
  2. Reopen Wallpaper Engine's window and select the "[Beta] Neptune Live2D" (maybe use a "My Wallpapers" filter to find it more easily).

Some notes for testing
  • It's better to enable the console to see error messages.
  • Maybe try inputting some unusual values, e.g. -1 or 100000 for number input boxes.
  • Sometimes a reset of properties is useful, this option could be found by clicking on the blue triangle on the top of properties panel. Always do a wallpaper reselection after resetting properties in order to avoid weird problems.
  • Some settings are unable to be reset by resetting properties, you need to use localStorage.clear() in console to do it manually. Remember to reselect wallpaper as well!

Old versions are useless, just delete them after your testing.

[1.2.0.1][pastebin.com] A Beta Version of Halloween Update

I haven't given this project a version number before, so the first thing would be versioning. A version number of 1.2 for current version would be good.

I had a hard time looking for a nice Halloween background image, while the one I finally got is still not ideal (it's included in this version). Really wish I could find a better one before the actual release :/

Addition
  • Added a new snow web effect for Blanc!!.
  • Added support for subtitle translations (click on a dialog to activate language selector).
  • Added UI localization feature (see ui.json).
  • Added Halloween theme (hidden, but visible in beta ver.).
  • Replaced the log with a new simple console.
Halloween theme will forcibly enable snow and disable leaves.

Changes
  • Replaced all the words of "dialogue" with "subtitle". :steamfacepalm: What a big mistake I've made.
  • Fixed sometimes errors would not be correctly caught and displayed.
  • Fixed character being clipped on 21:9 resolution or dual monitors.
  • Changed json format of subtitle file.

Removal
  • Removed unused resources.

I copied the text document to the folder, not the zip.

Just installed and did some testing on the snow.

No performace problems with the default slider (1 - 1,000)
no slowdown until 3,000
Noticeable stutter at 5000, Complete slide show at 10,000
down to 1 fps at 50,000, 2 seconds per frame at 100,000

Didn't test beyond that but I dont think it would take much more to cause a hard crash

Used for testing
i7 4790
16GB ram
Vega 56 (8GB vram)
2560x1440

Basically, the slider is for normal users (so its limit will be set to a proper value), while the input field is for those who want an unusual value set for their high performance pc, or just for fun... Both are fine, that's why I didn't make a hard limit in code :/

It seems that you had got the same error as CelloD's, I'll fix it.

Snow is forced to enable on Halloween theme, I forgot to mention that.

Subtitle is another thing I forgot to mention.:steamfacepalm: Subtitle's json format has been changed, maybe you need to check Neptune's subtitles.json to find it out.

I tried this and it didn't work for me either, later I realized I should replace every "dialogue" with "subtile" in model.json, by doing so it worked fine. Maybe that's the thing you were missing?

Sorry for the late update. I'm still busy af... but I promise I'll make it released before Halloween!

Addition
  • Added a Halloween dialogue.

Changes
  • Bound Halloween theme to the actual date (option removed).
  • Fixed number input field (such as snow's) may cause errors when it gets a non-numeric value.
  • Fixed snowflake number initializes with default value when it's set to 0.

Please let me know if I did anything wrong in translation!!

Halloween theme will show from 10/30 to 11/01 and the new dialogue only on 10/31. Since Halloween option was removed, it cannot be enabled directly; but I've put the option into console, just use command halloween(1) and halloween(0) to turn both theme and dialogue on/off.
