Heh, it seems I'm very late to this party, only realising that ol' Adrageron even made a mod for the original while I was looking up something else on here. In any case, it's surely one of his alright; ridiculously over the top difficult with the usual silly food mechanic that turns all your characters into gannets, requiring way too much prior knowledge before you can even begin to enjoy it.

Still, once you do have a grasp of the way things are, especially the location of those vital secrets, it is possible to brute force it, ironman style, even with the default party. Indeed, it definitely pays to max those weapon skills out as soon as possible, making ample use of Elixirs of Enlightenment, otherwise you're going to suffer during heavy combat (I can usually max out Swords & Unarmed by the time I reach the dreaded Sea of Flesh, which totally trivialises it by the way). Lightning is a must as well, not only because nothing is immune to it, but the final challenge kind of requires you to resist it as best you can.

Ah, and on the subject of the Twisted Corridors level: anyone who has played EoB2 and made it through the horrendous Silver Tower should be well aware of how things work. It didn't take me long at all to notice all the tricks, with me not even requiring the automap on subsequent playthroughs. Can't say I approve of the instadeath pit traps or the constantly respawning enemies later in the game, not to mention the deliberate lack of light until practically the end of level 5. However, overall it's a good mod with some nice ideas, which definitely leans well into his later works utilising the more advanced Grimrock 2 engine. :steamhappy:
