because yes, portugal was in a union with spain, but theoretically portugal remained independent from spain in matters of territorial and commercial possession, it did have the same king as spain.

Portugal at this times was part of The Spanish Empire at this era
Other wise the faction call Portugal in this game would be The Spanish Empire with the red Burgundry Flag.

Because El Cano and some expeditions far from Filipinas (Philip II islands, king of Spain)
