Yes she did. I assigned her to do just engineering and metal under professions tab. Anyway I tried the 4a version today in another save and then reverted back to 4b and it seems to have fixed itself. Maybe it didn't download the mod properly the first time. Thanks for answer anyway :)

Does that gnome have the Metallurgy profession active?

Hi. I would like to ask a question about the Smelting Lab. I got it built, I assigned a gnome to it. She was a miner and nothing happened for a long time so i assigned her to do just tinkering since the Smelting Labs said it was a tinkering job. Still nothing happened. Do i need to get some sort of tool to make it work? I suppose I am doing something wrong :D. Thanks for answer in advance.

To avoid confusion, what you are talking about is 4a.
To answer your question: yes, slivers from enemies is one intended way.
The other is merchants. For example, even before bronze armed enemies show up, the merchant city-state will already sell bronce slivers.

How exactly are the labs unlocked? It says I need a bronze bar to craft a Bronze Smelting Lab? I'm not sure how to get a bronze bar (beyond slivers from enemies) if I haven't researched it yet.
