Designed for 16:9 aspect ratio
This is my camera overlay. It has been redesigned from the ground up to be unobtrusive yet helpful for long range weapon targeting. It is cleaner than the crappy default overlay.

Transparency of the cross lines looks different in-game due to the nature of .dds image compression. They may appear very prominent at times but they will not obstruct the view of objects behind them too badly.


Subscribe and you will find it in your world mods.


Thanks to Digi for helping me put together a script to replace the default overlay!

As I said this is my personal camera overlay. I'm not removing my emblem. If you notice a massive error, feel free to tell me. If you have a request, feel free to ask. If I like it I MAY change it.

Yes I deleted my old overlay. Sorry for the inconvenience. I had enough complaints that I will not be reviving that overlay or releasing it to the public in the foreseeable future; you are welcome. If you like this new one, that's cool and you are cool. If you do not like this new overlay...[i.imgur.com]

can you make a camera that takes a image converts the image into text and sends it to a lcd or maybe have it take a ton of images and sends it into a lcd and plays it like a video on the lcd

Hello there Whip, first of all thank you for your mods. I'm glad to see that after a long time away they basically still work.
This one included.
But would it be possible for the mod to work with Top Mounted Cameras too? I seem to be using that variant more often hehe.
I have tried to edit it for my single player game, but I failed hard and getting compiling errors (I have no clue about coding whatsoever).

I know this is a big ask. And if it's not possible or you don't have the time, don't worry !
Meanwhile I'll try to change setups to use the normal cameras.

EDIT : I think I actually managed to do it. The compiling error was because of duplicate commands being present (I think).
If you want I can send you the changes so you can review and maybe update.
To be clear, the adaptation I did is only for my own single player world. Will not be uploaded ever.

@Whiplash141 i love these scripts and mods you make, but i have an idea for a mod or script since i have seen somewhere another mod, but it has been lost and gone for a while, the mod / script would basically take a text LCD or panel, and allow you to see what your camera sees on the panel, so you don't have to press the button to look into the camera itself, it would allow people to make really cool attack helicopters or other ships with panels inside allowing you to turn on the camera and see what the camera sees on a panel

srry if i am just repeating what i had already said, and if there is already a mod or script like what i am proposing, and if there is, if anyone could please tell me what it's name is, because i was looking for one but i haven't been able to find one.

If you're annoyed by the logo (it's fairly big, make it smaller please?), the mod is in steamapps/workshop/content/244850/704012607 (244850 is the games ID, 704012607 the mods), just edit the .dds image.
To avoid override by updates, rename the mods folder, and then unsubscribe in Steam. The renamed folder will then be happily loaded by the Game.
But again, no stealing! Only do this for convenience.

I came back into SE after a long while, apparently I can just assign the camera into the toolbar with a view activator.
Didn't see it take effect ingame even though i've picked and loaded it.

Its just a camera overlay: a static, transparent image.

Man, I'm sorry you've had to go through a mod theft like this.
I've subbed but I didn't understand exactly what this mod does, if it's some sort of Optical Scope for LR weapons and scouting\spying or can it be implemented as a side or reverse cam for landings?
Are there any parameters that might be changed to achieve the latter ingame?
