This mod has been bringing more immersion to common sounds in the game for over 10 years!

It packs a variety of sound content within one mod, making it great value within the 100 mod limit in Convoy multiplayer.

Compatibility

  • ETS2 1.57.2 + ATS 1.57.2. No errors in game log. Must have high priority in Mod Manager.
  • Does not replace individual player truck sounds, so this mod can be used with an unlimited amount of truck sound mods of your choice.
  • Compatible with all maps and all trucks, including truck mods.
  • Supported in single-player and multiplayer Convoy mode, and is marked as an optional mod in Convoy.
Minimum requirements

Requires higher priority in Mod Manager than:
  • any rain sound mods
  • any AI traffic related mods
  • any map mods (e.g. ProMods)
Feature list

The mod features meticulously crafted sounds, covering the following:

  • Suspension and tire bump sounds for your truck and trailer.
  • Fuel / filling station sounds.
  • Door close and seatbelt sounds after refueling.
  • Train sound enhancements for several locomotives and railroad cars.
  • Country/state specific railroad crossing bell sounds.
  • The most complete tire sound package for all terrains: asphalt, gravel, grass, snow, and sleeper lines.
  • Wet tire sound for the player's truck tires when the asphalt roads are wet.
  • Reworked tire screech/skid sound effects.
  • Nokia phone ringtone sound replacing the hurry up / late music, leading to less stress for the player.
  • Default common sound reworks, such as improved default air brake sounds.
  • AI traffic vehicle sound improvements, with engine and horn sounds uniquely set for hundreds of specific vehicles.
  • (ETS2 only) Several countries supported with local police siren sounds.
  • English AU/UK/US voice navigation variants with speaker effect added and uncustomary phrases removed.
  • Wind buffeting and rush of air sounds at high speeds only when the window is open.
  • More environmental and ambient sounds, and tasteful changes to existing ambient sounds in the game world.
  • Trailer coupling, trailer brace rotation, and trailer sliding axle sounds.
  • 6 standalone air horns.
  • Dynamic rain sounds, and an assortment of different thunder sounds with delay.
  • Default gear grinding sound effect additions and improvements.
  • Enhanced reverb zones, including stronger reverb when under bridges and overpasses.
  • (ATS only) Drawbridge lift warning sound for the Columbia River Interstate Bridge.
  • (ATS only) Working sounds for the Musical Road on the Historic Route 66.
  • (Optional) Reefer / refrigerated trailer sound functionality.
  • (Optional - ATS only) Cop scouting reports via CB radio (enable in voice navigation options).
  • Fixes for World Ambient sound glitches from the vanilla game and/or mods.
  • A couple of UI sound replacements in the Driving Academy module.

For further immersion, the mod may also include official paint colors and more authentic specifications for each AI traffic vehicle it modifies for sound. Rarer paint colors are less likely to be seen.

Ive seen, its very neat! Same goes for the IORE trains. I really wish that was an option for more locomotives, but one can dream haha.

@Femboy Enthusiast - Yes, a few of the freight trains have this rarely seen feature. Have a look at the trailer_chains[] values. :)

Another cool feature from 1.57 is the IORE train which has multiple locomotives in Kiruna

I also have to ask - did you throw light engine consists in the mod too? I spotted one of those the other day and was very confused, and now looking in the files, I see you may have done that? All in all very interesting, I didnt know that could be done ingame.

@Drive Safely - I snatched whatever the latest version on the forums was, as thats what the extractor seems to actually work with. Maybe thats not updated to v25.60 then? I wasn't really paying too much attention haha, my bad. Good to know regardless!

Heyo! love the new sounds for the new trains and all, busy updating my mod as we speak. I came here to tell you that, while combing through soundfixes so I could update my mod, I noticed that you might have missed the new vectron variants that come with nordic horizons. Norway, Denmark and Finland all have their own respective variants in the "train_bolton" file that comes with 1.57. Should be a quick and easy fix, just wanted to make sure you were aware. As always, tysm for what you do! :)

I managed to fit in one change in time for the v25.60 update now for Skye UK in ETS2

Hi Drive Safely, thanks for maintaining such a great mod after all these years.
I'd like to ask if you have any plans of revisiting the Nav Voices.
I noticed that some words and phrases have different "levels" like they're in different volumes or they lack the 'radio' filtering effect.
e.g. in Skye UK, the "Left" in "Turn/Keep/Exit ..." and the "First" in "Take the first ..."
or in Skye US, the "At the roundabout ..." sounds more clear than the rest of the sentence.
Does anyone else have similar experiences?
Also, I'd appreciate it if you can make the Nav Voices louder, because sometimes they can be difficult to hear even at 100% volume.

I really love the filtering work you did with the nav voices and those were just some of the nitpicks I'm having. Thanks again for you work :steamhappy:
