描述


Pianosa is an real italian island, which i used as guide for this terrain, but the terrain is still heavily modified for gaming purposes.



Background:

In the year 2035 the situation in southern europe is getting more precarious then ever before. To help the struggeling south-european countries the EU subventioned them, Italy used that money to improve living conditions on smaller peripheral island and started some new projects on island like Pianosa, e.g. the construction of new cities, the installation of some solar power plants (more to come). Because of the strong wave of refugees from north africa, there are several slum-areas scattered over the island, even in old and historic places like the abandoned prison complex in the center of the island.

Since the situation in north africa went very precaarious the NATO installed several military installations on Pianosa to protect its countries from the southern border, a completly artificial military airstrip among other things.


In this Version the island is nearly completly finished, its only missing some detailwork on the sattelitemap and there will be some missplaced objects, pls report them to me either here on Steam or on the BI-Forum.












The island ist ~10km² big and is relativly flat, not a big surprise, because pianosa is italian for flat (i still made it way, way more hilly then it is).

Well, long story short: This is the Beta Version 0.9, i hope you like it and if not, PLEASE tell me so! So i can improve it for everyone!

You all may know that a fictional version of the island of Pianosa was the location of the fictional US Army Air Corps base in the novel Catch-22. That book, which I remember as very funny, was a morale booster for us in Vietnam in the Sixties.

Hello, I did not find bug, but I should give idea, what about making the checkpoint to airport at the place where is that sign "MILITARY AREA"

Don't know why, but when my map updated, I had 2 versions in my drive, the 0.8 version, and the new 0.9 version, and my game kept using the 0.8 version. I fixed it by delating both and resubscribing, felt that if anyone else had the same problem this would help.

@lucavivi02 Yes its that island, but as you can see its a heavily modified version, so there wont be (m)any similarities to the real island other then its form. BTW im releasing a new, very modified, version of it pretty soon so stay tuned!

@Huwen An island is an island, also in WW2. But no i dont plan to make any extra versions of Pianosa. Maybe later down the road when i finished it.
