~~Stellaris [v4.2] General Fixes

Popis
Stellaris [v4.2.3] Error Janitor
Because someone had to.

This is a continuation of Vanilla Fixes v3.11.x by RMG and even more, it combines some old Vanilla Fixes mods that I found (credits below and in-code).

I initially created these fixes for myself to eliminate the noise and give myself a foundation for actually modding in peace. Since it's well known that PDX sometimes never fixes certain bugsor only fixes them years later. So, I've now started releasing this collection of general bug fixes for Vanilla and to give Stellaris a little kick in the bottom.
The plan is to make the mod timeless and to continuously expand and update it. All bug fixes included in all my other mods will be slowly integrated here.

What This Does
  • Fixes "Features": Corrects a huge amount of various bugs, I or others found.
  • Performance: tuning, script logic, cleanups (merging) AI_weights and modifiers, using modern syntax as intended, sorting triggers after priority.
  • Localisation: some open reported fixes (for all languages).
  • Creates a Base for Modding: Lets you build on a foundation that isn't actively screaming at you.
  • Silences the error.log: Fixes spam so you can find *real* errors (like from your other mods).
Creating these bug fixes is a lot of work, but listing and documenting them is another level of effort. Therefore, due to the sheer amount, each bug is usually self-explanatory in the code and marked with "# Vfix" (~1000–even not counting minor ones).

A detailed list of fixes will follow soon–possible, since PDS will integrate the majority of these fixes into the next version, you can read it there.

Your Subscription is a Message
By subscribing, liking, and favourite, you help the indie developer (PDX) by showing him exactly where the problems lie–maybe just the symptoms, not the reasons, to be clear. It also tells other players:

"No, the game really isn't just a bundle held together by hope.", "No, you're not crazy. The game really is like this."

PDS and Ariphaos and you can take everything from here for free. Credit is appreciatedif the bug could be named and was particularly inspiring.

PS: PDS has already begun to integrate this mod into Vanilla–since v4.1.7–as you can see in the CHANGE LOG).

A Special Thanks

Compatibility
  • Not achievement compatibleobviously, we want to free you from needless pain.
  • Not tutorial compatibleyes, we know, and now you know.
  • For best results, place this mod near the top of your load orderlet my fixes get overwritten by your cool content mods, not the other way around.
  • Possible conflicts with other mods that fix the same things.
  • This mod essentially works as an extension to the Unofficial Ariphaos Patch. (I've been supporting this mod for a long time and still do). The same instructions apply here. So, my mod must be BELOW Ariphaos', because all overlaps are includedmostly.
  • Includes all Bug Fixes by Dr. Addiction, but less dominant (merged and updated for v4.2 just as it was v4.0)
  • Incorporates all Stellaris Fixes by SushiDragon.
  • Merges all Stellaris Reforged: Base Fixes by v.kihot (only if conflict)
Special Note: This is NOT an Unofficial Ariphaos Unofficial Patch Updatebut it can be used as such. As long as it's not matches your game version, stability isn’t guaranteed.
Additional Note: Since some peoplewho haven't read everything completely :) and are wondering why full file overwrite, I have to say (Ariphaos should have already explained this in detail):

TL;DR LO is crucial!it's the only way to keep the vanilla Load Order active, and I don't want to compete with my modding friend Inny MoRe

Ariphaos původně napsal:
This should be compatible with nearly everything as long as this is at the top of your load order. Most changes are independent of each other, and those that are not should work at least as well as in vanilla if one part gets overwritten.
Too Long Version; Do Watchthx Wymorlon for hinting:

In the end, we will all die, but your like and honoration can stay here forever.

* Git Repository[github.com]–for the lulz– I mean for collaboration
* Please use the discussions threads or comments for reporting.

C. S. Lewis původně napsal:
A sum can be put right: but only by going back till you find the error and working it afresh from that point, never by simply going on.

A Note on Ratings and Visibility

We strongly encourage users to report any issues caused by this mod immediately (currently nothing known). Please note that a 'dislike' is not a bug report, and due to the very strange Steam algorithm, just one 'dislike' is roughly the effective equivalent of ~500 subscribers less.👊

If the amount of negative rating effort outweighs my mental resilience, I will regrettably be unable to continue providing these free fixes for PDX and the Stellaris community and any enthusiasts.

Thanks to all supporters and subscribers who actually appreciate this madness. You keep the fixes flowing.😄

Everything is OK in the end. If it’s not OK, it’s not the end.

I'm curious about the tutorial problem too. I use it a lot, to see what I might have missed.
After over 2K hours of playtime, I found a tutorial mission I'd never seen before, for example.

Couple of questions since i just discovered this mod. How is this mod not compatible with the tutorial, and should i also sub to Ariphaos Unofficial Patch?

Hey FirePrince In the focus_events_1.txt file shouldn't the NOR be removed around line 607 and the AND in Line 609 replaced with a NAND as i'm getting a "cannot find limit" error for the current logic .

Also completely unrelated to what's going on in my below comments, I can't declare war on fallen empires with this empire... The declare war button works, but I have no CB's in the list (I have claims and I also should have the Devastation (Cleansing Blaze) CB). This happens even with no mods installed so it's just a dumb vanilla problem

I started a new game as an old devouring wilderness empire that I had, same setup as the last new game, and could finish enclave first contacts. I tested this to see if it was an issue with empires that had the "no diplomacy" type tag.

To finish my testing, I modified the empire I'd been having trouble with and removed the Scorched World Heralds civic (I should've just done this haha). First contact with enclaves was fine.

There's something up with the new Scorched World Heralds civic and this mod as far as I can tell, as my multiplayer friend was playing as a different Infernal species and had no problems. I'm by no means a modder, let me know if you want me to test or check anything else!

@FirePrince I just did another multiplayer session, I can confirm we were on 4.2.3.9 and I wasn't able to finish first contacts with the new enclaves that I'd discovered. I closed the game and re-subbed to the mod, it's now showing as 4.2.3.11 in the PDX launcher. I loaded up the save and still cannot finish first contacts with enclaves.

I started a new single-player game as the same species, went and found an enclave, and cannot finish first contact, the button just isn't there. I turned off this mod and it worked fine. I turned off UI Overhaul Dynamic and turned this mod back on, no button to finish first contact with enclaves.

I then started a new game as a totally different species with both this and UI Overhaul enabled, Shroud-Forged Robots, found an enclave, and was able to finish first contact without issue.

FirePrince:
Regarding what you wrote "If the amount of negative rating effort outweighs my mental resilience,..."
It goes without saying, in EVERY community there are always some trolls/psychopaths/pathalogical haters who enjoy inflicting pain on others. Don't let them get to you. Please remember that I believe the vast majority of people here sincerely appreciate your generous contributions and luv ya. THANK YOU!

@Elder Spud: thx for report, this should be fixed yesterday (version="4.2.3.9") now we are on version="4.2.3.10". Can you confirm?

In relation to what S3V3R said, I was/still am having trouble with first contacts with the enclaves, regular first contacts work fine.

In my case, I'm using the Cosmic Dawn origin with Scorched World Heralds civic. I have this mod and UI Overhaul Dynamic (tested all of this without UI Overhaul, same problems. This mod is at the top). I'm also in a 2 player multiplayer lobby, the other person (with this mod of course) had no trouble with first contacts with enclaves.

Eventually I saved and restarted the game without this mod, reloaded the save, finished the first contacts, saved, and re-hosted from that new save with this mod re-enabled. I then came here to mention the bug and saw S3V3R's post. I unsubbed from the mod and resubbed, my checksum changed (284d instead of 33e3 or something). I loaded a previous save and tried the first-contacts, still a no-go.

Figured I'd mention it since it may be specific to devouring swarm-type empires.
