What is this
This mod turns all zombies into your ordinary "TV show" zombies, making them all evenly strong and removing all types of strains (invisible strain included), but keeping the zombie infection in the game.

Zombies don't have a specific strain anymore and they are all as strong as any other zombie. You can now only find "Antigen" in the world, which will work for any zombie bite, and the infection takes 1 week to turn a character into a zombie, balancing out the difficulty to find antigen and the infection taking over.

The strength of the zombies can be changed through the settings. You can also change the infection chance on bite, the chance for a zombie to be crippled, and whether to remove infection all together among other things.


Can be added to current games, but it's recommended to start a new one.

Settings
The settings file can be found inside the mod's folder under the name "Settings_OrdinaryZombies.xml". The decimal values range from 0 to 1, being 1 the maximum chance.
  • ZombieDifficulty. The difficulty of the zombies, which is taken from their type of strain. Green, Blue, Red, White. (default Blue)
  • InfectionChanceOnBite. The chance to be infected when bitten by a zombie. (default 1.0)
  • ChanceZombieCrippled. The chance for a zombie to spawn crippled. (default 0.4)
  • DisableZombieInfection. Whether to disable zombie infection. (default false)
  • IsPlayerImmuneToInfection. Whether player avatar is immune. (default false)
  • IsPlayerCommunityImmuneToInfection. Whether player community is immune. (default false)
  • ColorInfectedOnMap. The color of the infected on the map. (default RGBA: 106, 156, 48, 255)
  • HideZombieIcons Whether to hide zombie icons from the map. (default false)
  • DisableRoamingZombies. Whether to disable roaming zombies. (default false)
  • DisableZombieInvaders. Whether to disable zombie invaders. (default false)

I've put a solid number of hours into this over the past couple of weeks. I'm at the end game with my current group, doing the FEMA missions. There is something about the infected raiders that is making them immortal unless you select them in the debug menu and remove the invisible strain from them. I encountered another invisible strain during my playthrough, and she was also immortal so I think there is something inherent about having it that is causing this to happen.

For me, this doesn't load when starting a new world, sandbox. I'm on the public beta. When I enable it after starting, the zombies will be simply "infected" but the various antigens still spawn in game, sans an icon pic. Any interaction with those causes the game to fade to a black screen of death, forcing me to close the game. I've only been playing for a little over a week, and generally mod all my games via nexus. If there is a location for log files I can send you, I would be more than happy to do so.

Yeah! It should work all right, it affects all zombie spawning no matter what map you play on

This is exactly the mod I wanted when I started playing, but I have a question: will it work in “Hit the Road” mode? I'm a player who likes to play without a base camp and just wander from map to map.
