Version 1

This mod expands upon the in-game resupply feature to make it available to ships and submarines. In game there are currently 3 units that can resupply other units: M923 Truck, Ural Truck, and Ammo Depot. That functionality is expanded to the stock Fleet auxiliary and submarine tender vessels and some land units. However...


Only SOME ammo types can be replenished, others can’t.


There are some more limitations on resupply that are partially intentional and partially a WIP from my understanding. Most guns, and AA missiles can be replenished without any issue, but most Anti-ship missiles and torpedoes cannot. I also had more success replenishing noisemakers than chaff for some reason. Sometimes every spent piece of ammo is replenished immediately, sometimes half the magazine has to be emptied first before any resupply happens. If you want to see if something can be resupplied or not, best way to find out is trial and error in a test scenario.

To resupply, go within range and slow down below max resupply speed. I kept them the same for most units at 1.5 nm and 10kn. Most units can rearm 2 other units simultaneously, unless specified otherwise. I set the resupply speed fairly high, so you can see an effect more quickly during testing. I prioritise efficient trial and error over realism in this version. If you want a more realistic supply speed, check below. I have linked an alternative version of this mod.

The list of affected vessels is:
- Algol class
- Kilauea class
- Sacramento class
- Kazbek class (max targets: 1)
- Boris Chilikin class
- Don class (resupply submarine units, max targets: 4)
- Medium tanker (resupply submarine units, so you have a blue-side looking ship that can handle subs)
- Port boat base (unlimited resupply surface ships, range 3nm)
- Port boat base small (unlimited resupply submarine units, range 3nm)
- Headquarters (unlimited resupply land units)
- HEMTT (max speed: 5kn, max ammo cost: 200, range 0.5nm)

Reminder, 3 (unaffected) stock units already have a resupply feature (only for land units though):
- M923 Truck
- Ural Truck
- Ammo Depot

This is the first time I am creating a mod that is more than a simple scenario, and I am mostly just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. If you have any ideea how to improve this mod (on the technical side especially) let me know.

@1911M45 only some weapons can be resupplied at all. Test things out in the editor to see if whatever you are trying to replenish even works. Hover over the status on the bottom of the replenishment ships. It should say how much resupplies they have and if they are currently servicing another vessel. If you still don’t see any result, maybe there is a conflict with another mod?

Why am I still unable to resupply even though I have set the resupply range and maximum resupply speed to within 1.5 nautical miles and 10 knots respectively?

@HofVanStrudel yes, its very easy to do that. Its just changing a number in the config files.

Im thinking about making another version with more realistic speeds. I have no idea about balancing that yet, but im working on it.

its not unrealistic to have a task force spread over 2.5 to 10nm in real life in peace time. likely more in war time combat ops so it isnt really an issue in real life. in the game tho it is an issue due to the oversensitivity of collision avoidance.
