9A316M Buk-M3 Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL)

The 9A316M is the dedicated launcher vehicle of the 9K317M Buk-M3 medium-range surface-to-air missile system. It evolved from earlier Buk TELs (such as 9A39 and 9A316) that combined reload and launch roles, but for Buk-M3 it was redesigned around the new 9M317M missile and a higher ready-to-fire load.

Built on the GM-5969 tracked chassis, the 9A316M carries twelve canisterized missiles on two elevating booms, double the load of the 9A317M TELAR. Each boom holds six transport-launch containers (TPK), giving a compact, high-capacity launcher with good cross-country mobility.

Serial Buk-M3 units with 9A316M TELs have been in Russian service since the mid-2010s and have been documented in recent conflicts, where 9A316M vehicles are often seen operating alongside 9A317M TELARs.

A typical Buk-M3 battery combines two launcher vehicles (mix of 9A317M and 9A316M) under the control of a 9S36M fire-control radar and higher-level command posts, enabling many simultaneous engagements across the battalion.

In game, the 9A316M is a Medium Range Surface to Air Missile of the Buk-M3 family. Unlike its real counterpart, the number of missiles carried is 6, to fit the dimension requirements to fot inside train workbench. The main feature of the vehicle is that it does not have its own engagement radar relying on other vehicles within the Battalion Datalink for target firing data. You can still give it a GPS coordinate as manual targeting.

All vehicles have implemented a system that if target is lost it will continue leading the target based on its last known coordinates
