Description
Do you want your authority to exist beyond your mere capital? Do you want to achieve this without feeling overpowered?
Extended Control - Forts & Bailiffs modifies some key buildings to help you project your precious authority, while making sure you pay the price for it.

Features
  • Castles: Forts and their upgrades now provide local proximity and max control.
  • Fortress: Age of Revolutions Castle tier now also has zone of control like every other fort
  • Bailiffs: Bailiffs are now cheaper and provide more broad (but light) bonuses.
  • Cathedrals: Cathedrals now provide a 5% local control modifier.

However benefits for the castles come at a cost:
  • Castles now affect nobility power even more.
  • Castles now require additional paper for administration.

Note: The gallery image for bailiffs is no longer accurate as of the last update.
Not compatible with IRONMAN and ACHIVEMENTS
You can load up existing save file with this mod, works alright

I like your mod. But there is something wrong and I didn’t understand why. AI spamming forts more than vanilla game for control I think. For example Bulgarian AI spamming fort All province capitals. Maybe this buildings has to be more expensive. I tried to find solution in game files like increasing gold cost but I couldn’t. Building gold price system is too complicated. Can you find a solution to this? For example fort base gold prices must be 500-1000-2000 gold for fort level.

Oh that makes sense. Thanks Mistah! This game has so many modifiers it gets difficult to keep track of what is what.

that castle is balancing itself for capitals, since we are not supposed to add more "proximity" source to capitals who already have max, so basisically castles on capitals provide +%20 -%20 local proximity source and they cancel eachother out

I just found this amazing mod and activated it on an ongoing game. I get a -20 proximity because my capital has a castle? Was it there before, or am i missing something?

bailiffs are cheaper to maintain as i reduced their maintanence by half, so they are not redundant unless you have eco to spam castles.

you can only reach around %45 control early game if that province is cored, so if its actual far away town that isnt part of your society, the real numbers will be around 35, and for core regions, having just below half control makes more sense.

besides this mod is for people who want easier control, but if some people want a "lighter" version look if its possible to change it with "game rules" if not ill create another mod with lighter modifiers

This mod makes all Bailiffs redundant.

Yeah, cathedrals are very OP, you can build them everywhere. Control is "too" high, maybe you could delete the cathedral control part?

I like that this makes control feel more realistic (because why shouldn't forts give control, logically?) but I do think there is too much control. i'm in ~1440 and I have a town with a fort three or four locations away from my capital. Because of I suppose a road, a castle, a cathedral, and a temple, it's at 94 control. That seems very high at this point of the game. My more distanced towns with castles are around ~45 control which also feels high. I don't think cathedrals should give control and castles should be tuned down a bit. Maybe by a third on proximity.

could you tell me why it is overpowered so i can think about perhaps something for it

This makes Hungary brutally overpowered since they can just build castles on top of their gold RGOs instead of relying on crappy bailiffs. A more elegant solution is needed, hopefully Johan will deliver.
