RAN and RCN Sea Kings MOD
Mod Number: 3464481818

This mod adds the Royal Australian Navy's Westland Sea King Mk.50 and the Royal Canadian Navy's and Canadian Armed Forces' Sikorsky CH-124 Sea King to Sea Power.

The Sea King Mk.50 is a British licence-built version of the American Sikorsky S-61 helicopter of the same name, built by Westland Helicopters and in use by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) from 1974 to 2011. In game terms the Mk.50 lacks the SH-3's MAD, but is equipped with a search radar, which makes it more versatile.

The Sikorsky CH-124 (formerly CHSS-2) Sea King is an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter designed for shipboard use by Canadian naval forces, based on the US Navy's SH-3 Sea King. Most CH-124s were assembled in Quebec by United Aircraft of Canada. The CHSS-2 was re-designated CH-124 in 1968, further to the unification of the Canadian Armed and became the CH-124A in the 1970s when the Sea King Improvement Program (SKIP) added a Litton APS-503 search radar and a FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) sensor. The CH-124 served with the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and Canadian Armed Forces from 1963 to 2018. In game terms the CH-124s are identical to the SH-3s except they don't have a MAD, while the CH-124As benefit from a surface search radar and a FLIR.

This Mod features different liveries for the RAN 817 (Sharks) Squadron:

  • High Visibility paint scheme, in use during the Cold War
  • Low Visibility paint scheme in use during the 2000s
  • 50th Anniversary Livery (Very high visibility paint scheme ;))

and for the RCN and CAF:

  • CH-124 High Vis paint scheme during the Cold War era, prior to 1968
  • CH-124 with HS-50 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) markings
  • CH-124A with CAF 423 Sqn low Visibility paint scheme.
  • CH-124A with CAF 443 Sqn 60th Anniversary paint scheme.

Notes:
This mod does not require Sealifter or Anchorchain.

If you publish a scenario using this mod, do not forget to indicate in your description that in order it works the players need to subscribe to this mod first ;).

Important (about mods and mods use):

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that mods can break early access games.

This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz - 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it's unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is (at the time of publication of this mod) still in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod's file is no longer in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1286220 folder.

Hi, really love the mod! Just wondering if you have any plans to update the helicopters to have the "Transport" function to search for distress beacons and pick up survivors?
