During the 1500s a race to america would begin between morroco and portugal while spain and grenada were having a trade war in the old world
while we go to the rest of europe ,Ottoman caliphate solidfied its rule over caucasia and created a puppet state in crimea forcing the russians and ottomans to go into their own kind of rivalry
due to threats from a massive european coalition forming to destroy the ottoman and grenada threats
Ottomans andalusians morrocans and other arab leaders meet in Medina to sign a pact similiar to the holy roman empire known as the Pact of medina which would guarantee that if any major war broke out all forces must join to defend the islamic sphere ,in north africa this helped out the Mali empire restore its position as a regional power and bugged out the austrians alot
in iraq we have a 4th shia invasion of the ottoman empire with safavid managing to hold out the hotak attacks in this universe and the italian sphere civilwar between catholics orthodox and shias.
