1230 AD: Crown of Castile

This is one of the factions of my 1230 AD Iberian Campaign.

The Crown of Castile appeared in 1230 AD, when Fernando III of Castile succeeded Alfonso IX as King of León and Galicia. Thus, Castile had become the most powerful state in Iberia, only rivaled by the Crown of Aragon.

Fernando III was King of Castile since 1217, and became King of León and Galicia in 1230. On paper, this made him the most powerful man in the Iberian Peninsula. However, this would only materialize if he managed to overcome the Leonese and Galician opposition.
