Description
Reactive World Patch Is Out, And Is Necessary For The End-Game!
Due to this mod getting active updates, an import is needed when mechanics break. Please notice!
The Tale Of The Hoppers, A Drug Dealing Culture.
"A harsh world, they said. Bandits, emperors, savages and even fish shaped people. They all want the same, and that's death, the obvious way. Well, guess I have nothing left but to survive. I could kill bodies with my blade, but what's the fun in that? It feels far more blissful to kill their soul. And the best part, is them not knowing."
Additions to the game
  • 3 new, lore-friendly narcotics: Cannabis, Salvia and Opium.
  • Narcotic medical and food items, all craftable.
  • Narcotic farming and synthesis.
  • Lore-friendly update of trader inventories across the whole world.
  • Narcotic smuggling is more dangerous, but more rewarding.
  • End-game opportunities to built a narcotic empire.
  • Quest line to get your dealer career started.
  • Dealer start added.
  • Dealer faction called "Dryhopper Outlaws". Once befriended, sell various narcotics.
  • New recruits added.
Patches, updates and incompatibilities
Patches
Updates (V21)
  • General adjustments to various building types and scales, and to research times.
  • Resolved the bug where the Narcotic Hardpress was inside the wrong category (Thank you Cropol for finding it!)
  • Game start Drug Dealer now supports 'Dryad' and 'Shekad' races, two subraces of the Hopper's.
  • Ziegfrieda the recruit can do plastic surgery now.
  • Race rebalanced for the Dryhopper's.
  • Total clean-up of unused assets.
  • Correct packaging of all necesary files for using custom races and special characters.
  • Added war campaigns. Depending on your alliance with the Dryhopper's, they will visit your base.
Known Incompatibilities:
  • World Override mods (like Living World): May partly make this mod dysfunction, questline and locational wise. Narcotics items, research and (most) narcotic vendors will keep working. Full compatibility with Reactive World. Use the patch for it!
  • Town Override mods (like Living Cities etc.): Same issue as mentioned above.
  • Full conversion mods like Genesis or UWE will not work since they alter too much in the world. Use on your own risk!

If you spot more incompatibilities, make sure to reach out! If you are eager to play this with another mod, feel free to reach out so I can make patches for certain mods, in order for them to work perfectly together.

This project took ages to complete, and I was getting to ambitious so a big part of my idea's will probably not come to this mod. However, I'll do my best to actively maintain this mod until Kenshi 2 will arrive. Have fun playing with this one.

Hey @Zephyr

I understand how this happens. Since the lore behind the Hoppers are that they hate Robots, it is possible that they attack Robots race. I can adjust their faction in the mod itself to make sure this won’t happen, and make them neutral towards the robots and skeletons.

Hello again. I discovered something else, for some reason the fight with the guards is due to an attack specifically on the characters of the skeleton race in this city. However, not on ordinary skeletons, but on skeletons from the mod (Robotics Limb Base Skeletons). I tested the theory and tried to disable them. And... yes. There was no fight, the Dryhopper Outlaws simply left town.

Hello. I downloaded your mod, thanks for the mod, it's amazing. But there is one problem, for which reason Dryhopper constantly fights with Tech Hunter in the city of "World's End". For no reason, and judging by the duration of the skirmish, more and more new troops are coming to the city. The fight ends up being almost endless

Yes, They are because of their lore. Originally, they come from the far East of the world. Their race adapted to become the first non Hive / Robots resistant to Acid rain, but their skin started peeling from it.

why are they skinless? this mod adds a new race of skinless junkies?

The new faction does move throughout the world, but only in certain zones. Some cities have added dealers with some money where you can smuggle your goods to.

If you want to know which cities and how to “unlock” the dealers, feel free to ring me a message.

Do the factions move throughout the world, and add dealers to the cities?

@skullcross this would take some time in order to complete, since uwe is a bundle of alot of mods. I could make an alternate version or talk to the UWE developers if we can make something work

could someone make a patch for Universal Wasteland Expansion? The Dryhopper Outlaws are just gone in UWE...
