The Korzion Basin, located somewhere in the northern Sahara desert, was at one point a large and bountiful lake. However, excessive irrigation to surrounding communities caused the lake to dry up over the course of a couple hundred years, leaving nothing but the empty basin in which it once sat.

Over the many decades, it was discovered that beneath the sand and soil of the Korzion Basin lay perhaps one of the richest oil reservoirs to be found in North Africa to date, and what was once seen as a barren wasteland was shaping up to become one of the richest boons in the Sahara.

Unfortunately, at some point, someone set fires to the oil wells...
