1230 AD: Kingdom of Navarre

This is one of the factions of my 1230 AD Iberian Campaign.

The Kingdom of Navarre was a Christian Kingdom of Basque heritage, that lay on the north of the Iberian Península.

By the 1220s, King Sancho VII of Navarre was old, and suffered a painful illness. With no living children or brothers. The Kingdom was administered by his sister, Blanca of Navarre, who was married to the County of Champagne. Blanca passed away in 1229, and Sancho in 1234, leading to the coronation of Blanca’s son, Count Theobald of Champagne, as King of Navarre.

King Sancho VII of Navarre left no sons, and his French nephew Thibaut of Champagne rose to the throne. Expect early hostilities with the English territories in southern France.
