Map Entity Adder

This addon allows you to place and manage custom entities on any map using simple console commands. The entities are saved automatically and loaded when the map is reloaded, making it easier to customize your maps with custom objects and items.




Features:
  • Place Entities Anywhere: Use the console command `place_entity_here "entity_name"` to place any entity at your current position.
  • Automatic Saving: Entities are saved automatically for each map in the file `mapentities_[map_name].txt`.
  • Entity Persistence: Entities placed with the addon will load automatically when the map is reloaded or restarted.
  • Remove Entities: Use the console command `remove_entity_here [entity_id]` to remove an entity by its ID.
  • List Entities: Use the console command `list_all_entities [map_name]` to list all entities placed on a specific map.
  • Remove All Entities: Use the console command `remove_map_entity [map_name]` to remove all saved entities for a specific map.
  • Entity ID Generation: Entities are automatically assigned a unique ID when placed, ensuring easy tracking and removal.
  • Use as a base: Entities are automatically added to a file `mapentities_[map_name].txt` this means you simply need to share that file to anyone that would want it, they simply just need to subscribe to my addon to use it,




Commands:
  • place_entity_here [entity_name]: Places the specified entity at the player's current position.
  • remove_entity_here [entity_id]: Removes the entity with the given ID. (not working at the moment)
    - you can remove it manually from the mapentities_[map_name].txt file
  • list_all_entities [map_name]: Lists all entities placed on a specific map.
  • remove_map_entity [map_name]: Removes all entities for the given map.




Customization:
  • Entities placed using `place_entity_here` are saved to a file named `mapentities_[map_name].txt`.
  • Entities are automatically loaded when the map is reloaded or restarted, based on the saved data.
  • You can add or remove entities manually by editing the saved map entity file or using the provided console commands.




Notes:
  • Single Player and Server Compatible: Works in both single-player and multiplayer environments, though some server-side adjustments may be needed.
  • Persistent Entity Management: Once placed, entities will persist across map loads.
  • Avoid Conflicting Entities: Be mindful of conflicting or unsupported entities that may not behave as expected in certain maps.
  • Custom Maps Support: The addon is designed to work with any custom map that supports entity spawning.
