Small Distribution Office etc Pack

Leírás
Originally distributed by Lexii as:

Small car depot. Requires few resources to build. Accommodates 3 cars.
A car depot for 1 car has been added. [Translated from the original Russian, I think it means a distribution office for road vehicles, rather than road depot]

These are his 3D models, and I am happy to credit his work. But I have adapted the mod to put asphalt, gravel and mud bases for parking in front of the buildings, as requested by people in his comments.

I also added the ability to refuel your vehicles here (other than on the most simple ones with mud parking, where I assumed you might want to use these on a very early start with horses). Let's assume there are storage barrels inside the buildings, there is no fuel storage tanks visible ;) Because the mud versions don't have fuel they don't need a vehicle station to drop off/pick up resources, and that is hidden. Plus they don't ever use electricity.

I fixed the text, which was massive and floating in midair. And I gave the buildings a more reasonable cost (even boards are not free and they clearly have a corrugated iron roof, so some steel is required!). But on an early start you can choose to build the mud version, which is cheaper than the gravel or asphalt versions, and many times cheaper than a vanilla Dist, because these are wooden boards (huts) not brick/concrete buildings.

I also included the ability to provide maintenance from inside the garages. That functionality is not yet fully implemented in the game, but it should reduce wear and tear on the vehicles using these distribution offices.

Then I implemented both a one vehicle and three vehicle version of the building with the gravel forecourt as a Technical Office, and a three vehicle version as a Construction Office. These come with the vehicle wear and tear reduction and refueling. And finally, I adapted one of the 3 vehicle garages as a vehicle maintenance building, that will require some workers and resources to be sent to the building. So that should be a useful early start building for vehicle repair. If you have electricity enabled you don't need to actually provide electricity to it for it to operate, though it will operate a little slower, but all buildings that you want to use refuelling will need electricity.

And I used the three door building as a small storage building. It has three vehicle stations, and no parking. The storage is arranged as three independent areas, so you could for example make one for food, one for alcohol and one for clothes. With three vehicle stations for loading/unloading it should be quite useful to extend a shop or small factory using a factory connection, without needing a cargo station.

I also created two tiny firestations, one vehicle each. Both have refueling, but one has the fire engine parked outside and the other has it inside. The outside one (with gravel forecourt) is nice to see the vehicle parked there, but takes up more space. The inside one allows the firestation to be placed right up against a road, if you want. It has no vehicle station for waste loading and fuel drop-off, but the game copes with that. Note that the building is not much bigger than the parking space inside it, if you use a particularly big model of fire engine it may clip through the walls, but it is definitely OK with vehicles up to 7m. such as the Mack, AC Series Firetruck (available from about 1917, you can get in the Workshop).

I implemented some skins (three different colours) that you can also download to go with this mod to get some variation of the colours, so every building in the pack (13 of them) can have four different colours..

@multiprongedacropetally I agree that bigger versions would be really nice.
PM me with how you think that should look and I'll see what I can do.

Thank you, excellent work. I have downloaded a ton of DO and CO mods but these are the best.
The mods look pretty good, fit with the vanilla ones in the game and perfect that they don't clash.
Can't you make another pack where you make the buildings bigger in width DO and CO similar to 5 and 10 ? Of course make it more expensive to build then.
For me the mud version is useless, I'd be fine with asphalt for all of them.

@ZILonaut Thanks for spotting that. I hadn't actually used the CO myself yet so missed it :) The name displayed for the Construction Office is changed now.

BTW there is only one version for construction (3 vehicles with gravel). I doubted the need to have so much variation with CO's, and couldn't imagine a use case for a single vehicle CO. I also kept the gravel base for the CO quite long to easily accommodate some of the longer construction vehicles, things like early road cranes. Though the CO is not really intended to be used with tower cranes and very long trucks. Maybe there is a case for a super long version? I guess I see the possibility that you could build a standard 8 or 10 vehicle CO and then later want to add alongside it one of these small CO's. I'm open to it. It's easy to add to the pack additional buildings. It's not easy to add the skins because of the limits there (only a max of 16 skins per workshop item). Happy to have any comments on this.

One more thing. The small construction office is named "small distribution office".
You have to change the naming.
Otherwise, great mod! 👍

New version has been published, making changes to the vehicle repair building (see comments below, if you have used that building you might consider demolishing it and rebuilding it to get full functionality) and reducing the length of some of the parking areas in front of the buildings. Since this is not intended for modern (1980s on) 40t articulated lorries, there is no need to have 12m long parking. Vehicles up to 8m should be absolutely fine. If you already used one of the DOs etc with the longer parking it will not be affected.

@ZILonaut I tested this again and there is no problem in my game with the workers reaching the vehicle repair building through the road connection, and repairs work if you have a maintenance vehicle (covered hull), which is sent out to the depots, DO's etc where they have vehicles needing repairs. Nevertheless, access for workers would be improved with pedestrian connections and I am happy with your suggestion to add that, including to make them walk through the doorway :)

However, there is a problem with vehicles on lines not seeming to find the maintenance building and going to it. You have to temporarily take them off the line back to a depot then the repair vehicle comes out. This is because the maintenance building needs at least two vehicle stations, when I had only one. That is now changed (2 stations and 2 parking rather than 1 and 3) and that fixes it for me. Let me know if that is OK for you now please.

Thanks, set up with free distribution with 3 vehicles and then no 3 vehicle real distribution office.

Great work! I love the original Model very much.
I am sorry, but your implementation of the maintanance misses a pedestrian connection for workers. No workers show up to work, the shop is not accessable. Also not via workers on the road. Please add a pedestrian connectian, therer is a door on the left side that would make it look good.
