描述
On December 26, 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed, and with it, the need for great defence spending. As a result of this new peace dividend, Western militaries saw a massive drawdown in procurement and standing arsenal, leading many ships to being sold off. The Kidd Class fell victim to this, being sold to Taiwan in 2001. But what if the Soviets never fell? What if the Cold War dragged on for another decade or so? This mod seeks to explore that, and explore what a modern VLS equipped Kidd could bring to the table.

New Threat Upgrade mod by NuclearStonk is required for this, place this above NTU in the mod load order for it to work properly.

I've already made the updated version, I just won't be updating this version until after the release of my current project. Im very active on the BuOrd Discord, you can find me there if you wanna know more. Don't wanna share too much on here

@GoldLeader108 I spent some time tonight in the files, copied over and edited some of the relevant Mk41 .ini sections from the new NTU Tico. The new Mk41 seems to be plug and play, tested earlier and weapons seem to work fine. I smoothed out the fore VLS deck tx.png a bit in PS, but couldn't figure out a way to get the ship to use the vanilla Kidd texture file without errors - someone more talented will have to fix the visuals there. The aft VLS is raised a tiny bit cause I couldn't figure out another way to remove the pesky Mk26 base plate texture. https://i.imgur.com/TETRteb.jpeg

Are you planning an update to the VLS Kidd with NTU's new 64-cell Mk41 models?

@GoldLeader108 We should be getting an update to this vessel's EW suite. Since build #109, the vanilla Kidd has a SLQ-32(V)2 ESM.

I wish NTU didn't completely break the game balance. I'd love USN with VLS... just not as OP as NTU makes them.

I have installed the NTU module and enabled it in the module manager. The loading order is KIDD VLS first and NTU module second.
