I already mentioned it previously - no, I have no such plans.
It is a significant change of the original mod, I do not want to interfere. Also Sarvente himself under original mentioned why - these heroes are supposed to support ice guard, which are infantry.
I can tweak balance a bit, as @DankMcDootface proposed (and I think I will), but it is a simple numberical edit.
However if you wish to make them mounted yourself - feel free to use my updated version and patch it - just credit Sarvente as original author.

I have just checked - Matricarchs are available.
It may conflict with one of your mods, tho - please check with only this one enabled.
You can use WeMod to cheat lvl4 city on a fresh campaign for quick check
