Chepstow Gate

This model is based on the gate of Chepstow Castle in Gwent. One source says that the outer part of the gate would have been covered with plates of iron to reinforce the gate and prevent if from being set on fire. Unfortunately I haven't been able to recreate a good plate texture yet, so I have copied another style of reinforcement based on the gates of Dunster Castle in Somerset. If I find a suitable texture file I might replace this.

The main gate has a hatch, called a wicket gate. At the moment this does not operate independently but with a lot of help from Equinox, I hope to make this a functioning wicket gate in the future, so watch this space for updates! Since this is a reinforced gate, it will take a bit more punishment than the normal large gate.
