[MP3 Radio] Garry's Mod Music Player

This Garry's Mod Music Player works on both Servers and in Single Player
Songs can be played by anyone to themselves and admins or players with the password can play songs to everyone on the server.

GMMP will take songs from the garrysmod\sound\gmmp\ folder and allow them to be played in-game via the menu

To open the menu press F4 or type !gmmp in chat

Place your song files in this folder.

["Steam" Folder]\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\sound\gmmp
( Your steam folder is most likely at C:\Program Files (x86)\ )

If you do not have a \sound\gmmp folder then manually create them.

Song names will not work if they contain period and a space or two spaces beside each other. For example, "DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber" or "Drake  Passionfruit" would need to be renamed to "DJ Snake ft Justin Bieber"/"Drake Passionfruit", blame Garry.

For other players to hear your music they need to (by whatever means) have the song with the same name in their garrysmod/sound/gmmp folder. There are a few different methods for doing this:

A. Upload your songs to the Workshop. Make an album of your own with your garrysmod\sound\gmmp\ folder and the music in it! Here's a guide on how to make a workshop upload: https://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Workshop_Addon_Creation

B. Upload your songs to your server. Put them in garrysmod\sound\gmmp\, the same way you would add them to your own PC. Songs will be automatically added to the resource list by default

C. Manually send the .mp3 files and have them add it to their garrysmod\sound\gmmp\ folder

The menu won't open when i press F4 or do !gmmp
The addon is not installed properly.
Try restarting gmod and/or unsubbing then resubbing

I can't add songs
Be sure you are following the instructions properly
Try restarting the map and/or gmod after adding new songs

How do I loop music?
Put music you want to loop in the favorites list and turn on autoplay

Can I play file types other than MP3?
Yes, the supported file types are: mp3, wav, aiff, dct, ogg, gsm, flac, au, vox, raw, m4a, wma.

Can I modify your addon and re-upload it?
Yes but please add me as a contributor to the addon


gmmp_menu : Opens menu
gmmp_play [Song Name] : Play a song, can be used to search
gmmp_volume [0-100] : Set the local volume
gmmp_stop : Stop playing the current song
gmmp_shuffle : Shuffle the list and start playing
gmmp_next : Play the next song in the list
gmmp_prev : Play the previous song in the list

gmmp_autoresource [0/1] : If set to 1 then songs in garrysmod\sound\gmmp will automatically be added to the download list
gmmp_menukey ["F1"/"F2"/"F3"/"F4"] : The function key that will toggle the menu
gmmp_globalpass [Password] : The password for players that aren't admins to play songs to everyone
gmmp_global [0/1] : Play to everyone
gmmp_clientglobalpass [Password] : Password attempted when you to play to everyone
gmmp_allowother [0/1] : Allow others to play songs
gmmp_showmountedsongs [0/1] : Show all mounted music
gmmp_showincludedsongs [0/1] : No effect as there are no included songs currently
gmmp_showfavourites [0/1] : Show favourites list
gmmp_favouritesselected [0/1] : If 1 songs will play from the favourites list instead of the song list
gmmp_muteall [0/1] : Mute all players
gmmp_autoplay [0/1] : Automatically play the next song in the list after the current song finishes
