FAQ

Q: Can you make Prime "X" next?
A: No, I have officially quit Source modding. I now only offer limited support.

Q: I can't turn on features such as beams/visors, missiles, etc. in the cheats menu. Why?
A: Set "sv_cheats" to 1 in your console.

Q: My beam and visor icons are black, why?
A: Turn on antialiasing in your video settings.

Q: My screen is filled with red crosses and X's when I shoot, why?
A: You need to install the required items for the particle effects to work.

Q: Changing controls doesn't seem to work, why?
A: Controls are loaded once, you need to reload the weapon completely (remove from inventory) for changes to take effect.

Q: Anytime I scan something, it says "No information found", why?
A: Check the "Compatible Addons" thread for an addon that adds entity log book entries.

Q: How do I scan things with the Scan Visor?
A: Same key you use to lock on, simply hold it down while looking at a scannable entity.

Q: My effects appear dull and non-vibrant, why?
A: Turn on high dynamic range and bloom in your video settings. Prime is a game with a fairly dark environment, effects look better on darker maps.

Q: I have an older computer, how can I minimize lag?
A: Disable dynamic lighting in the "Prime" tab.

Q: I am a developer and would like to add support in my addon, are there any resources?
A: Yes, check the Github page's readme for the full API and architecture.

Q: I would like to contribute to localization, how do I go about it?
A: Check the "Localization" thread, your contributions are greatly appreciated and you will be credited.
