Karosa ŠM11.1608 1969

Karosa ŠM11.1608 was a version of the new generation of buses, this version came to production mid-sixties, but the roof vents, as on this model were added in 1969. In 1967-1968 the shape was same as on ŠM11.1605 model.

The bus used Liaz ML630 engine and used aluminium metal sheets, bent for higher strenght and support.

The bus was self-supporting, was built from several panels, which were completed before they were mount together (separate sides, front, roof, bottom). The design was interesting, as it was reusing the same shappe for both front and back.
ŠM11 had automatic transmission, engine placed mid-floor and were built in multiple series (with adjustments) till 1981.
