Something truly awful has happened.

The Hedrons are strange, yet somewhat endearing, creatures created when the Metallivores uncovered the Zemplix' old, unused creature modification technology and used it on the Wing Walkers. They have been modified to be very slow-moving, fast-reproducing, and completely harmless. Their antennae have been moved to the front for easier use, and their core now on the end of a long protrusion so it can be easily removed from a dead specimen, as eating a Zemplix core will almost certainly result in a slow, painful death. To make reproduction even more efficient, the Hedrons don't even have genders anymore. Their lifespan is unknown as the Metallivores typically kill them after a few years. The oldest recorded Hedron was only 57 years old. (If you were wondering, yes, the Metallivores got their intelligence back.)
