I try to go for the middle ground: use things, preferably with permission, minimally with credit given. Anything from the game is free ground. Anything you make yourself (regardless how similar to something else is free ground)
Personally, I'm happy for anyone to use something I've made.. as long as there is credit given to the original idea/mod, and they are not just outright uploading the **exact** same thing. Like, feel free to copy this, make your changes, and explain what & why.
Anyway, you can steal ideas as much as you like, just not assets, like sound, graphics, names etc. Yup, this is the law actually as far as IP is considered. So if you decided to make a full copy of, say, weapon turrets mod with your own graphics and stuff, you can legally do that.
Hence I personally am not that strinct with my own mods and it kinda gives me cringe shivers when someone makes statements like "absolutelly don't touch this mod" when theirs is for example some sector creation rules change (wink wink).
I don't understand what the point of his post is though?
Maybe he got confused and thought this was something similar? Like an auto-labelling of storages? Maybe he's trying to accuse me of stealing this idea from him/someone? Maybe he's saying I used assets/work that were not my own?
Maybe he's just using my mod as a means to promote his own?
Like what was the point/relevance of his comment? .. I am baffled..
I just think that he missed the point - as a mod maker you can make your own version of someone else ideas. People can't really copyright ideas, so every mod maker can make decal mods of resource icons from vanilla stuff :)

This is a decals mod. A paints mod. For the ship exterior.
As noted in the title, and the linked source work inspiration.
And by the mod description detailing the sizes presented.
And as shown by the screenshot with them on a ship exterior during the paint progress.

It has absolutely nothing to do with this mod.
What are you talking about? Those are 'paints' you put on the outside of your ship?!! You probably should add a picture of a ship with them on it if that is what they are.
They don't look like paint decals. That looks more like a resource icon replacer image.
Not even a link to a working mod.
