Описание
Like a vault of old movies after Ted Turner finds them, color has been added to a bunch of class icons. All of the base game classes are here, including PsiOps and SPARKs. Most of the popular class packs and several individual class mods have also had updates -- over 400 classes and counting, see below. Don't worry about the mods you aren't using, the game will just ignore the settings for classes that aren't loaded. Safe to add or remove mid-campaign.

Color scheme
There is an overall color scheme based on class role, but not enforced too strictly. Some elements just look better with the "wrong" color.
  • Yellow: Explosives
  • Blue: Close range
  • Magenta: Long range
  • Green: Healing
  • White/Gray: Technical or mechanical
  • Red: Fire based
  • Orange: Tanks
  • Olive green: Suppression and/or lots of fire
  • Brown: Support

Included Color Class Icons
Class packs listed below. The full list of mods (including all the individual class mods) is found here.

Requests
Feel free to request new or changed icons. Just know that this is project being done in my spare time, so no expectations for how long (or maybe even if) it will be done. I do understand that one or two classes being monochrome feels like something is missing, so I'll try to do as many as possible, especially the more popular classes. So far, new requests have usually been created within a few days.

Compatibility
Not compitable with the legacy (pre-WotC) version. It should be compatible with any other mods, including others that modify class icons (although only one will "win" for any given class). Safe to add or remove mid-campaign.

Acknowledgements
Some are custom built by me, but most icons used here are color versions of other modders' (or Firaxis') work. I have not spoken with all of the other modders, but I did get permission from the ones I did talk to. If anyone would like me to take their work down or make changes, let me know on Steam or Discord. Special thanks to Rusty Dios who let me use the icons from his Psionic class for the base game PsiOps class (and as part of the Dark PsiOps class) and the atom icon from his Alchemist class.

If you like what I'm doing, you can leave a tip at my Ko-fi[ko-fi.com] page. It's not required, but I do appreciate it!

@EvilBob22 - still, you stand as a model of what the baseline level should be for people checking their work and ensuring it's function themselves! This is now a proud feature of the AML O+E, as it probably should be for 'literally every pack that isn't running it's own icon sets'.

@LeyShade Thanks! I've written software documentation before, so I think it just comes naturally for me to proofread pretty carefully. Mistakes will sometimes still sneak through though.

@EvilBob22 - Just wanted to say well played on being one of the only authors who's successfully made our teams work irrelevant during the hiatus, by being one of the few authors who's checked and proofed their own work so meticulously there is no fault we can find to fix.

Someone order Bob all the champagne and cookies!!

Glad it's working for you! I didn't start modding until well after WotC came out, so I only ever downloaded the WotC SDK. It also has a very powerful function that wasn't in the vanilla version that allows tweaks to all kinds of item/character/class/etc. templates before the game loads to the main menu. A lot of mods, including this one, make use of it.

@RustyDios, I have ultimate steam collection of XCOM: EU\EW, XCOM 2 with all DLC (including WotC and TLP), even Chimera Squad. But now I returned to classic LW2 because I always loved it and currently I try to make my own LW2 offline collection of mods with my own edits.
Anyway, thanks, I've already done what I wanted by drawing my own class icons and replacing the vanilla ones in the vanilla .upk with my own.

someone still plays vanilla? wow

I'd highly recommend buying the bundle on steam, right now during the autmn sale at 95% off... just $7, all DLC included ... there's even a decent LWotC mod out...

@EvilBob22
I'd really like to use your beautiful icons in vanilla, but I don't have the SDK to recompile your UPK file so it's readable by vanilla (LW2). Can you help me with this?
I'm trying to create my own LW2 mod collection, and I'd like to make my new classes with colored icons.
Thank you so much in advance!

@Wolf Weird thing with that class, it uses a class icon from the Surplus Icon Pack, but it isn't in the required mod list. At least is a fairly common requirement for other mods.

@HKR31 I tried a limited mod list with basically just RPGO, Yet Another F1 and their requirements and I saw the same thing (except as the blue versions). I think the only way to fix it would be an update withing RPGO. A bridge mod might be possible though.
