FSO Polonez

The FSO Polonez was a car model produced by the Polish automaker Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (FSO) between 1978 and 2002. Based on the Fiat 125, it was produced in a variety of body styles and types during it's production, such as hatchbacks, sedans, station wagons, pickup trucks, cargo minivan, coupe as well as special editions for emergency services. in 1991, the Polonez Caro facelift was released, as well as the Caro Plus in 1997, before production finally ended in 2002.

Despite quite poor performance on most engines offered with the Polonez, the cheap cost of purchasing and maintaining made it a very popular vehicle especially in Central and Eastern Europe, however it also saw export to many other nations such as the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Syria, Egypt and more. The market for them began winding down first with more stringent emission regulations for certain export markets, and upon Poland joining the EU in 2004 the market became flooded with cheap and tax-free newer used vehicles from Western Europe. It remains a popular car to this day, even if physical numbers of them may be dwindling.

This mod contains a paintable prop version as well as a driveable version. The driveable version has a crappy unwrap if you want to figure that out for any sort of liveries however i likely wont be doing much dedicated work to this, as i am simply porting in a model i made as part of college coursework. I don't have any current plans to make any of the other body styles/face-lifts, however others are welcome to do this if they so wish.

Contains about 11k polys for the model which is a little bit over what the default vehicles i checked have however i dont feel like spending hours taking a hacksaw to the model to optimise it any further. Please keep in mind this wont also be a 100% accurate model as it was done quite quickly to act as some background objects for a final coursework render for college, so specific technical details were not too important

if you want to make a reskin or modified model [e.g. other body styles, customisation, facelifts etc.] you are welcome to release it on the workshop without seeking prior permission, just please credit the original model creator (me) and keep it to rolling line and not porting elsewhere! (if you want to use the model for other games or uses ask first! Contact via discord on TPRAM#2146 and i'll be more than happy to work something out!)
