Romanovka, Russia [Map]

Romanovka is a village in the Primorsky Krai region of Siberia, Russia. It is the site of the Battle of Romanovka, which was fought in June 1919 during the Russian Civil War.

During this battle, Russian Bolsheviks of Yakov Tryapitsyn launched a surprise attack on an American army camp at Romanovka, near Vladivostok. As a result of the engagement, the attacks were repelled. Romanovka and the Suchan Valley Campaign that followed were the final major engagements of the Russian Civil War involving the United States. Battles would later break out again between the Americans and Soviets, as well as the Cossacks, on much smaller scales. Likewise, the Americans were invariably victorious.

This map was created using a GPS height-map scan of the area of the Battle of Romanovka based on war maps. It is relatively to scale, and features accurately placed terrain, plants, buildings, and roads. It includes the American camp, the overlook from which the Soviets attacked it, the village of Romanovka, and surrounding wilderness and farms.
