I tried everything, dropping it on the icon and also dropping it into the inventory.

I have a weight limit of 30, and even though I try to transfer items, it won't let me put more than 30.
some mod should be messing up with all contextmenu for you
A trolley from the [B42] ZuperCart - Carts & Trolleys (Fork) mod doesn't seem to have the same issue.
