Donazo's Fine Fisticuffs (B42 in testing - see link)

Description
DOES NOT WORK ON B42, use the following:
BUILD 42: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3590517705

Art by: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/id/lumiina_

Be a gentleman. This rather posh mod allows you to deal with unwelcome company the polite and civilzed way.

Note: wraps are intentionally invisible to allow player to wear whatever they like on their hands.

Add-ons:

Visible Wraps add-on: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2871348065&searchtext=wrap

Double exp add-on: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2862273089&tscn=1663283258

This mod adds hand wraps as weapons. They can be created by using 8 ripped sheets for normal wraps. Reinforced Fist Wraps can be made with 10 thread, a sewing needle, 8 ripped sheets and 10 leather strips.

There is also a version called "Master Wraps" but I'll leave that to you to experience yourself.

I tried to make this mod balanced so that it is usable but not overpowered. If you have any feedback or suggestions please tell me in the comments.

Q: Does it work on multiplayer?
A: Yes!!

Q: Does it scale with a skill?
A: Yes - short blunt. It functions like any other short blunt weapon in terms of scaling, maintenance etc.

Q: Can you add X?
A: I am open to suggestions but if something requires a model or something outside my expertise I would require assistance in creating it (if you would like to help please let me know!)

Q: Can you change the animation?
A: That unfortunately is beyond my knowledge of modding PZ.

Best most best satisfying mod ever. Thank you Danazo, for providing a way to finishing off zombies the right way!

@DaddyPlease, it is probably possible, but I don't know how to do it

Is it.. possible that I could probably use the weapon AND the animations from Fancy Handwork? I vividly remember being able to do something of the sort. If so, would it still deal the same damage?

yeah, i keep hoping that it comes back to the base game too, maybe after this big push they are doing for animals, npcs, and sustainability? if not though, then yeah, a simple mod to recreate it (or even make something better maybe, i could easily see finding books, mags, videos, and equipment to unlock more advanced unarmed attacks and such) would be quite nice, and could even pair with something like Donazo's wraps quite nicely.

@Infinitetech No way, that's so cool. I really hope they or someone with more know-how than I, could re implement this. It absolutely should be viable, 250lbs 5'10 boxer throwing a punch would absolutely do damage to them equivalent to being hit with an object from a person of sleight-er build. You can already build your strength and fitness in game, and I play with More traits adding Martial Arts, which is just damage on the shove. I've been absolutely dying for a mod like this or Brutal Handwork to come back. Or, in a perfect world, them to reintroduce it to vanilla. Either way, I love whoever does it lmao.

@Donazo, I will. I'll do a serious search and post what I find. Kudos to you for your intellect and working it out.

Yeah, they originally planned for players to be able to punch when unarmed, with shoving being a secondary action, but, super early indev they found that the balance of it was broken, and they (at that time) could not find a way to balance a non-durability related combat system, especially when it logically should be the lowest stamina, and they did not want to cause inflicted damage to the player per swing. They left the parts in, but it has been mostly gutted for a long time. There are even a few descriptors and items left in the game from when they planned on adding it fully, but just as random gubbins now. Heck, for at least a couple betas there were even wip perks for getting Strong Arm, Karate Kid, and a few other things that made unarmed combat VERY viable lol.

@Peter Hemingway, if you do find something on the animations please let me know. I know the animations exist, but I have no idea how to play them. When I made this mod it was basically backwards-engineering and trial and error. There isn't (or wasn't) much documentation on the code itself.

@Donazo, also, I don't know if you already knew, but the three punch animations that are present in Brutal Handwork are actually vanilla and already in the game. The player just cannot perform them for some reason, but they were not made externally. I could do some digging and see if I could work out any more info for you on that, but I hope that helps somehow. I remember using a tool to view the animations myself to see if I could work it out yonks ago, but alas, I failed.
