MrPlague's Authentic Races adds a DND-style race system to Terraria.
Each race alters the player's sprite sheets and comes with a set of configurable abilities. Users can design and publish their own races using a built-in editor.

Hey so is my assessment/testing correct in that this mod is entirely incompatible with any mod which adds a hairstyle? I have one hair style mod I made. Running just this mod works, but if the hair mod is on the game crashes the second a a player appears. the mod does nothing but add 2 hairstyles.

KETER, as I can see, kenku feathers not for damage. Try being falling near them when they explode

Just to add.... this stems from the idea that abilities will fall off after some degree of progression. It would be nice if race abilities scaled with you by some metric of progression.

Having Kenku's feather volley scale with Max HP is just a way of doing it for the birb. I see some of the races already do this <3

Would it be possible to make Kenku's feather damage scale with Max HP, similar to how wing time works?

definitely true in the rare case of public modded servers but I'd say it's about same/lower level of trust for servers between friends as downloading mods off steam workshop. It would be disabled or on-confirmation by default for sure. Or maybe a one click "create as new workshop item" button if that's possible

Oh, yeah fair. Not sure how that one would work anyways, and also would kinda be a security risk because someone could bundle some nasty code into their race and then load it onto a server.

@Turtleren T.T that much I know since clients sync with server, but I was asking about server syncing with client. Because it'd be so much more convenient if races were a "bring your own" type deal instead of having to go through the server hoster every time, especially if the race was created in the editor by the client (create, package, upload, download, install)

Races are going to be packaged in mods, which will automatically sync when you try to join a server.
So, everyone needs the race mod installed, but it will automatically download the mod if you’re missing it when you try to connect to a server. It’s all convenient and automatic :)

How do custom races work, both from mods and created with the custom race editor, in multiplayer? Does everyone need to have the same ones installed? Do custom race editor races need to be exported and shared somehow?

If so, it'd be really nice if there was a simple p2p system for sharing races in servers automatically.
