WARNING!

As well as l4d2 doesnt read the media calalog in .vpk files, you need to make some steps to make addon work.

1. Install GCFScape. This thing allows to read addon files. (https://valvedev. info/tools/gcfscape/)

2. Subscribe to addon, launch l4d2, wait until add-ons will load, close the game.

3. Go to directory \Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop.
(If you dont know where the game is located click library, left 4 dead 2, right click, properties, local files.)

4. Find the .vpk addon (you will see the right one, it goes with jpg thumb), right click, open with GCFScape. Go down and find l4d2_background02.bik

5. Now go to Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media.

6. Create a folder inside, name it whatever you want, select all 'l4d2_background(1,2,3,4,5).bik' files and drop it to it.

7. Grab the l4d2_background02.bik from GCFScape window and drop it to media folder.


- But what if I want to delete addon?
- Thats why article 6 exist. Whenever you want to delete the mod, again, go to Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media, delete modded l4d2_background02.bik file (or rename it to, for example, to l4d2_background02-mod) and grab all background.bik files from the folder you created back to media folder.

If you screwed up at any point of deleting the mod or you're too laze to do at manually just verify integrity of game files.
