DESCRIPTION

Welcome, welcome!

This mod aims to fill a gap I've always loathed: while the Assassin and Hunter provide a full loadout for their class of choice (Arashi and Katana for Rangers, Darklance and Darkclaw for Sharpshooter), the Warlock, despite being obviously the equivalent of a Psi Operative only gave you his Disruptor Rifle and no Psi Amp equivalent.

This is an attempt to fix that. Introducing the Warlock's Crown!

As you might have guessed, this mod adds a new item obtained by researching Warlock's Weapons - the Warlock's Crown, a unique Psi Amp for your Psi Operatives (or whatever Psi class you will equip it to). For this, the localization and research image of the Warlock's Weapons research has been updated to reflect the addition of the Crown. Every aspect of this item is configurable - from its psi boost to the abilities it grants to the wielder. You will find all the customization options in the XComCrown.ini file.
By default, it adds a whopping +80 Psi Power and gives the wearer access to Mind Control, the same ability used by both the Warlock and the Avatar. It also makes it so that Soulfire, Null Lance and Void Rift deal more damage.

Moreover, this mod makes it so the soldier will perform the psi amp animations without an actual psi amp but still preserving all the original effects, though this can be changed in the mod's configuration file.

And if that isn't enough, you can configure which of the four versions of the Crown cosmetics to autoequip your soldiers once you equip the crown itself (the inventory image will automatically change based on the one you chose); or even to not autoequip it at all! You will find all the instructions in the XComCrown.ini file.

COMPATIBILITIES
  • Compatible with both [WotC] No More PsiAmps and [WOTC] Psionic Implants. If you have those mods installed, modify the according toggle in the configuration file to make your soldiers use those mods' animations instead of the classical psi amp's.
  • Compatible with [WOTC] Psionics Ex Machina 3.0; if you have this mod, the Crown will gain 5 upgrade slots, though you can change this value in the configuration file.
  • Compatible with [WOTC] Covert Infiltration; the Crown already has deterrence and infiltration values set up for it, the same as the Disruptor Rifle's. You can change them in the XComInfilitration.ini file.
Also, thanks to the config work done by RustyDios:
  • Compatible with [WOTC] Bstar's Perk Pack; the ability Unstable already has a config entry in the XComCrown.ini config file.
  • Compatible with [WOTC] Extended Perk Pack; the ability Mind Blast already has a config entry in the XComCrown.ini config file.

I really want to try this mod; did the issue with the helmet getting stuck on soldiers ever get resolved, or is there a workaround for this issue if you're using the mod?

for some reason a bunch of my soldiers are wearing the crown, and i cant remove it :/

mind controlled aliens cannot move. and they can only attack other controlled aliens

Este juego es una joya, y aunque no voy a usar tu mod, no porque no me parezca interesante, sino porque fijo mirada a lo que fireaxis a querido manifestar en su juego. Te agradezco que lo hayas desarrollado, queda claro con tu exposición.

I found an amusing minor bug. If I start a campaign with this mode enabled, some of my starting soldiers randomly are wearing the Warlock headgear cosmetic, even though their Customization>Head>Helmet/Hat says they are wearing Nothing. The headgear cosmetic disappears when exiting the Customization screen
