描述

This mod reworks most of base eyes and faces in the game with a realistic take and adds few other custom cool faces. Don't judge too fast by the screenshots, those are randomized characters, too lazy to make an army of handsomes. This is my first mod on Kenshi, but be reassured i did few hundreds of mods for other games. I am a texturer veteran and have already worked on professional video games projects, in my hands your game should have optimal textures and be safe from bugs.

I quickly decided to make that first mod in Kenshi in order to fix these annoying and lifeless vanilla eyes. Trying to fix in first weird shapes, blurry textures, sometimes strabismus, etc. In general i aim to make my textures fitting very well the base game graphics, like if i were working in person for that game under its precise art direction. For instance i am not the kind to bring a manga style onto a realistic universe, or texture that swear on the rest. I don't like mixing styles and i love lore friendly stuff even if i sometimes like to extrapolate a bit (like these rectilinear pupil i did for Sheks, which i assumed to be logical since they have a lot of reptilian features).

Reworked faces & eyes count (Base+Custom) : Sheks (18+8) Scorchlander (6+9) Greenlander (22+17) Western Hive (0+5) Southern Hive (0+1) Cannibal (2+0) Cannibal Scav (2+0) Skeletons (8+3) = TOTAL : 101 (58+43)

All Unique Recruits have been finally fully covered !
  • All base texture faces have been reworked, few bad artifacts are fixed, eyes gets a complete new texture with a fixed sclera tone and iris color fiting approximately the original files.

  • Scorchlanders now have a specific kind of eyes, with a very small pupil, available colors are gold or silver.

  • Sheks now have a specific kind of eyes, kinda clear, with a thin rectilinear pupil. Available colors are : purple, pink, red.

  • Cannibals have dark red-ish scleras to give somekind of madness mood.

  • The 8 Skeletons models now become playable. Agnu, Burn and Sadneil has their own independent models.

  • Skeletons color tones are now harmonized between head and body for each model (sub-races).

  • Skeletons model names were corrected for the sake of clarity (now directly refering to their head and body setups) see screenshots for a quick explanation.

  • Each Unique recruits now have a custom exclusive face texture. Their face should automatically pop on them in a new game or new game import only if they were not recruited yet. For old saves, you will have to go for a surgeon intervention for each unique recruit you want the face applied.

  • Each Unique recruits will have its body values revised. I took a good care of "fixing" them with all my artist senses awake. Don't freak out, i didn't break their character atmosphere or charisma : i just corrected the disgusting aberrations or things out of proportions so they can feel more realistic. You can trust me blindly on this.

  • Kiana, the mod mascot has been implemented in the game as a unique recruit, she can be found in Admag. She has a moderate sharpshooter base experience with few other handy skill @10, a bowcraft experience, but above all she has unique dialogues that grows more complexe with updates.
I hope you guys will enjoy all that, the total amount of work is insane ! (easily 400+ hours in total)

Also, be warned this mod might weight heavy on your Vram and GPU despite being optimal for the results. 370Mo+ to this day and i don't plan to do a light version since it ll ruin half my work. Having a full array of 250 recruits with all uniques faces / skeletons will surely tire your setup more than usual, for your info my 1080gtx setup doesn't like so much when i go 100 recruits (i usually play with 50 max) especially when changing locations on map.

Even if they represent hundreds of working hours, I'm sharing my mods for free like most of mod creators. nevermind i found her, clipped into an area between the bars and stuck there. got her out but i'm still short on cats apparently, i hate you right now xD

when i first ran into Kiana and talked to her i didn't have the necessary cats. I haven't seen her in Admag since. Is she gone now or am I just having bad luck?

Sorry as well if my early comment sounds too hard to understand or is too vague. The reason why I warn people is because I myself had a lot trouble trying to get this mod to work with big modlists. If you want to use this mod just keep in mind that it changes important files, so it needs alot of patches and fixes if you want to use it with other animation mods or appearance mods.

Here's a simpler explanation beloved mambo @Matikanetannhauser, this mod was originally intended to add higher quality faces for NPCs and player characters to use. However, the mod grew too large in adding features, and ended up changing too much of the character/race/meshes you can find in the game files versus vanilla Kenshi. An example would be the person @Blaximus below me. The reason why Skeleton characters like Sadneil and Agnu change to other races is because this mod makes changes the skeleton files and meshes. So if you unsubscribe or forget to change back the files to the normal game it will cause issues. Because it changes alot of files of the character races, other mods like animation mods or mods that also touch the files changes will have issues. You CAN use this mod, but beware that depending on your modlist, you might face alot of issues if alot of your mods conflict with this.

I removed this mod mid-playthrough, and my Sadneil and Agnu turned to generic Greenlanders. Any idea what’s going on with that?

BAD MOD ALERT: For a mod that only focuses on character appearance it suffers from severe feature creep and may end up changing something you don't like or that breaks other mods (removing muscle definition or race changes) that breaks saves and cause alot of issues if you unsubscribe. If any mod list has this mod I recommend not using this mod, unless you install patches for it to fix some of the changes it does. This mod has not been updated for 3 years so you're best bet is finding another alternative or finding a patch for this that only adds the new faces and not mess with anything else in the game. Other than that, the faces are really high quality, it's just a shame this mod has too many unnecessary changes that will take alot self-patching/installing patches to make it work.

@Frission - these mods do not actually conflict, the only question will be the correct placement of the "mod order" - in the worst case, Hobbs will simply need to have a plastic surgeon change his face to a modified one
