Thank you, I'll check into it.

The game runs on version B42.12
Yes, I understand that the default recipe does not include a pencil.
What I meant to express is this: the last item entered in the sandbox settings does not appear correctly in the recipe within the game.
When I set the notebook as the only ingredient, the Skill Recovery Journal can be crafted in the game without any materials. When I set the notebook and pencil as ingredients, only the notebook is needed to craft the Skill Recovery Journal.

The pencil is not part of the recipe to make the book. That being said, the sandbox options format is build dependant -- as they changed the recipe format.

Which build are you on?

After testing, it seems that the last item in the recipe cannot be written correctly. I modified the sandbox settings like this:
item 1 [Base.Diary1;Base.Diary2] flags[Prop2] mode:destroy | item 1 [Base.pencil] flags[Prop1] mode:destroy
Entering the game, I can use the diary to create skill logs normally, but the pencil is not required in the recipe.

The sandbox custom recipe feature is not working properly. I modified the sandbox recipes according to the mod instructions, but when I entered the game, I found that the skill Journal could be made without any raw materials. I also specifically checked the Wiki, and it seems that the syntax is correct.
Here is the content under default settings:
item 1 [Base.Notebook;Base.Journal] flags[Prop2] mode:destroy| item 1 tags[Glue] flags[Prop1]| item 3 [Base.LeatherStrips;Base.LeatherStripsDirty] mode:destroy| item 1 [Base.Thread;Base.Yarn]
I copied and modified it like this:
item 1 [Base.Diary1;Base.Diary2] flags[Prop2] mode:destroy

i'm playing b41 MP and cannot manage to make it work. May be user error but i've got it enabled on steam workshop (just downloaded it), and in-game. Also in the server settings. I've checked FAQ and it says it may be a problem of jumping from 41-42 back to 41. How to solve? Thanks in advance.

You should add a setting so it remembers what you've read and watched so people can't use it to endlessly grind levels by watching the same VHS over and over again

Mod works fine for me.

Picked my own journal from my previous body:
"doesn't feel right to read someone elses journal"...
This is weird interaction tbh.
