A new mod that'll allow you to explore the dark oil-based industry by adding a lot of new materials, options and chemicals. This mod does not require EM - Metals to work, however, you can unlock new content (and difficulty xD) if you enable it (Lite version is also supported).

This mod adds dark oil, a materials that was previously added by EM - Metals, as well as fossils, which are obtained via deep drill.



Expanded Materials - Plastics adds a completely new production chain based on dark oil.



EM - Plastics adds three new facilities to weave materials and synthetize the required chemicals.





This mod also adds new chemicals or "Neutroamine variations" which are used to synthetize most of the materials.
















EM - Plastics allows the creation of previously un-craftable vanilla items.

I have tested this mod with and without both Lite an Full versions of EM - Metals, as well as with VE, and I haven't found any major issues, if you find one, please report it so I can fix it as soon as possible :D



Q: Save game compatible?
A: Mostly yes, but back up your saves just in case.

Q: Do you plan to add compatibility for X mod?
A: I mentioned it above, also, if you want to make your own patch, you're free to do it :D

Q: Will you add X idea?
A: I'm probably going to expand this mod with a couple of small add-ons, I may implement your idea in one of those if it is good enough. >.<

wish this was up to date. I loved using plastic to give cannon fodder cheap armor while hording steel like a dragon

If you want easier plasteel, check out Rim of Madness - Bones.
They have a recipe for processing bones into various materials.
Including calcium polymer, which can be used in combination with steel in a Biofuel Refinery to make plasteel.
That is my preferred method of obtaining it.

ah, all good. honestly i was mainly here for the plasteel, but with how expansive EM metals already is, including plasteel, i think i'll be fine with it for now ^^
