描述
Two V8 locomotives are in use on the Dance Hall Days line, and they are the main motive power for the Dalton to Charlotte's Forest passenger trains. The V8 pair used to run on freight trains in the Sau Paulo area, and were withdrawn in 1992. Thankfully they were saved from the scrapyard, and arrived in New Zealand in 2002, along with one Side Road locomotive from Paranapiacaba.

After being overhauled and repainted at Hutt Workshops, the three electric engines each arrived at Dalton on the back of their own lorries. They started hauling passenger trains at their new home in 2004.

Today the typical passenger service out of Dalton consists of one locomotive and six Pullman Heavyweight coaches. The V8 pair are typically not used on the Pullman lunch/dinner train, as the Side Rod usually takes this one.
