描述
Caldera
Welcome to Caldera, a once mundane planet that was driven to its current state by a recent (in cosmic terms) impact that devastated its surface and atmosphere, and gave it an impressive set of rings. Wide rivers and seas of lava are spread throughout, cutting between plains of ash-covered rock and jagged mountains; leaving fresh beaches of cooled lava rock. Enveloped by thick clouds of ash and sulfur, Caldera's temperature remains extremely hot over its entire surface with devastating ashstorms that occasionally sweep by its basins. Despite being a true hellscape, the impact had deposited a plethora of heavy elements under its surface free to be exploited by those who can survive Caldera's hostile conditions, just don't expect to find any ice.

Specifications
Size: 120km
Gravity: 1.16g (11.37 m/s²)
Oxygen: Low
Starting Difficulty: Hard

Resources Present:
Iron, Nickel, Silicon, Cobalt, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Uranium

----------

KL-136
Believed to be a comet that was captured shortly after Caldera suffered its impact, the eloquently named KL-136 is rich in what Caldera isn't: Ice. Its rough surface is covered in it, but only common ores can be found under its surface.

Specifications
Size: 19km
Gravity: 0.10g (0.98 m/s²)
Oxygen: None
Starting Difficulty: Hard

Resources Present:
Iron, Nickel, Silicon, Cobalt, Silver, Ice

----------

Features:
- New dynamic weather system with custom weather
‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ~ Light Ashstorm: A thick fog of ash Increases the temperature and lowers the oxygen.
‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ~ Heavy Ashstorm: An even thicker fog of ash increases the temperature and lowers the
‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ ‌‌ oxygen, with lightning
- Lava that damages grids and players alike on contact
- Varied terrain (Equator is more open, poles are more mountainous)
- Custom voxel terrain and ambient sounds

Notes:
If you have any issues, please report them in the comments.

Credit for the rings goes to DoctorOctoganapus for his CloudRing.mwm model.

Lava damage script originally made by Rexxar, with this version being maintained by dontburnthebooks. Unfortunately the script only consistently works in singleplayer.

To place this planet in an existing save, make sure you have creative/admin privileges, press Shift+f10, navigate to Planets, select Caldera and set the size to 120km. Alternatively, check out the Oron Zai System.

Changelog:
- Update 3 (5/6/21) Fixed lava generating underground. - Update 2 (9/15/20) Performance update, should run better at higher voxel settings. - Update 1 (8/16/20) Emissive lava textures are now fixed and should display properly at night and on high shader settings.

planet doesnt seem to appear either as a world, nor in the planet spawning menu

So, I tested it, and it seems to work. I take damage if I land or stand in the lava. Okay, maybe I can integrate the whole thing into another planet myself. thx

the damage script isn't mine and I have no idea how it works, it's likely broken anyways

Hi Shard, I have a question. Is it easy to transfer your damage script from the caldera to another planet? And how can I do that? I have a lava planet in my world and would like to have lava damage on that planet as well.

You can use it

Hi shard, I have a question. I'm currently creating a new SE scenario, which I'd like to make available to our community on a dedicated server once it's finished. I'd like to include your Caldera planet in this scenario, because they turned out pretty cool. I hereby request permission to use your planet and, if necessary, to modify it and to upload it to the workshop.
