Mod Updater

Descrizione
Updates mods to their latest versions on the Oxygen Not Included Workshop, if they do not automatically update due to caching in the Workshop content distribution network. Handles most situations of outdated mods being served, even those not fixed by resubscribing to the mod, clearing the Steam download cache, or wiping the local mod files.

Features
  • Fixes several bugs that prevent proper mod updates, so most mods will now automatically update to the correct versions once the game reaches the main menu.
  • Shows the last update date of each mod, and which mods are outdated compared to their current versions on the Steam Workshop.
  • Adds warning text on the Main Menu if mods are out of date.
  • Preserves most mod options during the update process. (For other modders: Configuration files of type txt, json, or xml from the mod directory under 100KB will be restored, if the mod upload does not contain a file of the same name)
  • All outdated mods can be updated at once with the Update All button found at the bottom of the Mods dialog (only visible if at least one mod is outdated).
  • Does not work if Oxygen Not Included was purchased from the Epic Games Store or WeGame Store.

No support for the CS-469300 previous version or public testing releases.

DO yourselves a favor get rid of this as it's just a headache and no longer works as intended

It breaks mods and created false disk write and disk full errors

Yeah this is broken. Completely uninstalling until the author can fix it

I found a way to run it. You need to disable all mods, then only enable Mod Updater. You can then enter the game to force update all Expired mods. last, Just place Mod Updater at the top.

The mod updater doesn't work for me.
even if i hit the ESC key to get to the mods, the mod updater is disabled and if i enable it, it will ask me to restart, if i do the game crashes on start. if i dont restart it, the options for updates aren't working.

let's be honest, this game has lost its mods community since most mods that are usefull aren't being updated anymore and nobody want to take over. even the mod manager who does the same thing is in the same boat now.

Just press ESC go to the mod screen and force update from there. Restart. Done. Please dont complicate things when there is no need and dont tell people to waste time expecting in that precise moment steam miracously update it that is never gonna happen.

But yes. It appears the author has abandoned this mod. It still works, but you just have to know how to deal with the infinite loop (which really isn't infinite if you follow my tips below). Once you know how to get out of this loop, this mod will still work just fine

However, the author has clearly stated that he does NOT read comments here and to file a bug report at: https://github.com/peterhaneve/ONIMods

to fix the infinite reboot loop. Here's several things that can work

1) NEVER press restart. Hit ESC to clear the restart window
2) Exit the game manually and give steam a chance to download the mods. The restart button doesn't give steam a chance to do this
3) restart the game after steam downloads the mods

or

1) never press restart. Hit ESC
2) go into the mod list
3) click force update on any mod stuck in that reboot loop. They should be marked in yellow
4) Hit continue vs restart on the pop ups
5) When done, exit the game manually, and let steam update things
6) restart the game

or

In some RARE cases a mod will error out and can't be updated if it's too old and the update process can't update it (this can also happen if there's a mod conflict). In this case, press ESC vs restart, and manually go in and delete the offensive mod and restart the game. Once things are stable, reinstall the mod.

Doing one of the above ALWAYS gets me out of that reboot loop and get my mods updated
