"My walkarround for that problem was to choose the need for a traffic light to trigger the node, which will close the hole/gap at the junction/transition (where it is needed). That way it will prevent the same node from appearing at the connection between the main segment and the nodeless segment.
The downside of that solution is shown in the second picture. If there is no
traffic light, then there is no Node. :/
If you want to connect the road to a small road you have to activate traffic lights to trigger the node."
